Our favorite exercise of the week is no doubt trolling through the Green Bay Packers’ Friday injury report. Always filled with so much information!
This week, the Packers have listed five players as questionable and two as out. Both center J.C. Tretter, who had knee surgery this week, and running back James Starks, who is still dealing with a concussion, have been ruled out.
That means that, yes, receiver Jordy Nelson is one of the five players listed as questionable. Nelson practiced on a limited basis this week before coming down with some sort of illness — an illness that appears to be going around.
Joining Nelson as questionable are two other receivers — Davante Adams, who has a sprained ankle, and Geronimo Allison, who has a hamstring injury. The Packers reportedly expect both to play on Sunday, while Nelson remains a bit of a long shot.
Also questionable are safety Morgan Burnett (quad) and cornerback Quinten Rollins (concussion). Rookie Kentrell Brice filled in for Burnett after he went out in the Dallas game. Burnett was listed as a limited participant on Friday after being listed as out the previous two days.
We’ve heard that if this were a regular-season game, he wouldn’t play. However, it appears Burnett is moving toward playing this week.
On the other side, the Atlanta Falcons’ injury report is completely clean.
Wonder what that’s like?
While Dallas couldn’t win they sure beat the Packers up. Whatever the Packers are doing to avoid injuries isn’t working. Or perhaps the roster has an inordinate amount of injury prone players. In any case, like the queens fans, injuries will be a convenient excuse if Atlanta hangs 50 on the Packers on Sunday.
50 might not be enough.
