Fat Mike: We’re Going to Beat the Giants

It’s kind of reminiscent of when he threw shade at the Minnesota Vikings and them idiotically raising a banner for their NFC North championship back in week 2.

That didn’t turn out so well for the Green Bay Packers, as they lost that game to Minnesota, but we appreciated the sentiment.

We only raise banners for one thing in Green Bay.

Anyway, Fat Mike was at it again when he talked to the New York media today. What was he at?

Flatly stating that we’re going to beat your substandard football team.

As you might expect, McCarthy was asked about past playoff failures at the hands of the Giants. He didn’t take that bait.

“I’m just focused on the team that we played earlier in the year and focused on the team that we’re going to beat on Sunday,” he said.

I can probably count on one hand the times that highly-successful football coach Fat Mike McCarthy has done something that has excited me.

This is one of them.

New York is superior to Green Bay in every way. Every way except for their respective football teams, that is.

The Packers are on a roll, they’ve beat this team earlier this season, and they’re facing — in Ben McAdoo — the one McCarthy assistant coaching branch who has actually had some success.

I know you’re feeling it, Fat Mike. We’re feeling it too.

You don’t give the other team bulletin-board material unless you’re supremely confident — or an idiot — though.

Didn’t work out so well last time.

But let’s go stomp on the the New York Giants’ fucking throats.

We Are Green Bay!

Monty McMahon is one of the founders of Total Packers. He is probably the most famous graduate of UW-Oshkosh next to Jim Gantner.

He says that same shit almost every week, just like he did in weeks 8-11. That didn’t work out that well. But when he’s right, and he wins. I’m thinking….He looks like a highly successful head coach.

  2. PF4L January 4, 2017

OK…Maybe it’s time for all the name calling to stop, especially this “FAT MIKE” garbage. He might be a couple lbs overweight, but it’s probably just a medical condition.

Lately, some readers, including myself, are highly offended by this blantant lack of respect.

The man is responsible for this team winning as many games as they do. Have you seen his winning percentage? Without McCarthy, this team doesn’t stand a chance. Fucking knock it off!!

Show him some G D respect, or risk losing us as readers. McCarthy is 3rd, or 23rd, or some shit in winning percentage…..
    Get off the mans nuts.

I have spoken!! And i don’t want to have to come back in here and talk about this with you people again…understand?

Yeah this website is close to losing me as well. “Fat Mike” and “Gravy-filled Head” are just plain disrespectful. The articles that really turn me away are the ones where the author suggests that a certain player should commit suicide. If I read one more article like that, I”M DONE with this website.

      1. PF4L January 5, 2017

My post was an attempt at humor. Which i think, was plenty fucking funny.

        1. Smoking Jay January 5, 2017

My post was just stating a fact that some of the writers on this website are horrible people.

          1. PF4L January 5, 2017

I think totalpackers.com writers are among the most talented in the Country. And anyone that disagree’s with that has to deal with me.

BTW….What are we gonna do about this Rodgers e-mail situation? This must be resolved, or the Packers are doomed in the playoffs.

In other news….Has Rodgers and Olivia broken up?

Because ain’t NO WAY Rodgers could be playing this good with that cancerous, family wrecking attention whore, hanging on his arm. Know what i’m sayin?

          2. Smoking Jay January 5, 2017

This site should have 2 blog sections. One for only football related articles, and the other for the TMZ junk most people don’t care about.

  3. Howard January 4, 2017

Well Fuck, if I was superstitious this may bother me. I remember a similiar statement 13 years ago this very day “we will take the ball, and we are going to score”. I do not need to say how that bold and stupid statement turned out for the originator of the message.

  4. Deepsky January 5, 2017

The GIants receivers are completely trash talking the Packers secondary. Not even the good Giants receiver.

If the Packers have any chance at winning this game, they have to score a miraculous 30 points against the Giants, something the Giants haven’t given up all year, and Eli Manning has to play terrible, throw at least 2 picks, something he doesn’t do against the Packers.

  5. Savage57 January 5, 2017

“Hmmm, let’s see. Aaron did the R-E-L-A-X thing and now the ‘run the table’ thing and everyone thinks he’s some kind of oracle. What can I do to try and show people I’m a ballsy guy the players will want to get behind?”

“I know! ‘We’re going to beat the next team we play!'”

    Inspiring stuff, Mike.

Yep! more fuel for the Giants fire. Great bulletin board stuff McGlurpy . . .

  7. ay hombre January 5, 2017

I love it. It reminds me when McCarthy fitted the team with Super Bowl rings before they won it. Although there was a story never really told as to why Rodgers bailed and didn’t get his measured.

Regardless, Not only has Rodgers emerged and changed his game some from a leadership standpoint, McCarthy has upped his game as well. The six game run is a result of both of them pulling their heads from their asses and I love what I’m seeing out of MM in both leadership and play calling.

Look the fuck out. We might just blow this Giants team out.

    1. MMTTDCSUCK January 5, 2017

That would be very nice . . .

    2. PF4L January 5, 2017

I remember the ring fitting story. but i never heard of Rodgers bailing on it. which i would have respected.

McCarthy should consider himself damn lucky they won that SB. Otherwise he would have been laughed at for decades for a ring fitting, before they won anything.

That would have raised his buffoonery to the top level.

      1. MMTTDCSUCK January 5, 2017

He has since raised it to that level himself . . . and Dom Capers defensive “charades” should have had him exiled to Elba directly after that 2010 SB.

  8. Kato January 5, 2017

Pretty bold. I am not sure I hate it. He did put himself out there though and basically put everything on himself on the line here and took the pressure off the players. If the packers do indeed lose, the criticism and focus will be on him and his statement. He will look like the idiot. God McCarthy is such a terrible guy and coach. Keep hating McCarthy without a good reason.

    1. PF4L January 5, 2017

Not real sure doing a Super Bowl ring fitting before the Super Bowl is taking the pressure off the players. But if you think so, ok.

Seems to me, it’s putting more pressure on the players. It’s not like fat Mike is going to suit up and throw 5 touch down passes. The players win the game.

Kato…..Just because McCarthy mismanages the time clock, has a pre-set run chart determination before a game, and sticks to regardless of the game circumstance, just because he doesn’t know what’s going on with his star players at crunch time, just because defenses know exactly what he is running because his offense was stale. Does NOT give us fans the right to judge him on this stuff. Right?

Not to mention, he’s hypocritical. Now he says he doesn’t run plays from a predetermined numbered play chart, that’s the opposite of what he’s done in the past. But this is his 1st head coaching gig, so i guess he’s still learning “on the job”. Which brings me to my last point……

Remember 2 or 3 year ago, he threw out a challenge flag. Then Jordy ran to quickly go pick it up and gave it back to McCarthy, explaining to McCarthy that he couldn’t challenge that play. Remember?

So what happened? The ref threw a flag on McCarthy for delay of game.

Riddle me this Kato….Why does Jordy Nelson know the rules better than fat Mike? I would love to here an answer.

      1. Kato January 5, 2017

He is the one saying that are going to win, and is the one that will look stupid if they lose. Tell me, who looked more dumb: Rex Ryan or the jets team after he guaranteed a super bowl the first time?

If you watched more football (and actually paid attention) to more teams, you would see coaches mistakes and questionable calls all the time! The one where he threw the challenge flag was stupid, I wouldn’t argue that. Belechick has made some boneheaded calls too. One where he has a field goal to the the game on fourth down at the end of the game, but elected to go for it instead, didn’t convert, and lost. Pete Carroll in the super bowl. Too conservative at times? Yeah probably but the second he would do something remotely risky you would call him an idiot if it didn’t work out. Don’t even lie.

        1. PF4L January 5, 2017

First of all, i’m pretty sure i’ve never said no other head coaches made mistakes. But if i did say that…THEN FUCKING SHOW ME.

And i’m fairly fucking sure, that you don’t have the 1st fucking clue as to how much football i watch.

And don’t tell me what i would call somebody…You don’t speak for me fuckhead.

Kato…Your starting to turn into a lil punk bitch.

          1. PF4L January 5, 2017

Kato….Man up and respond to my post in the next “Quick Takes” article. It will be re-posted if need be to a newer article. Ignoring it, won’t make it go away.

I’ve always treated you with respect, even when we disagreed. But it doesn’t seem you want to extend that same courtesy. If you want to act like a little punk bitch, then that is how you will be treated.

            Be a man, and respond.
