Aaron Rodgers Suggests Jordy Nelson Won’t Play

The Green Bay Packers have left the door open for Jordy Nelson to play on Sunday. However, we don’t expect him to play and it sounds like quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn’t either.

“It’s tough,” Rodgers said. “We’ve played a lot of football together. You realize how important these opportunities are, how they don’t come around every single year. We feel great about our team. Obviously, we feel better with 87 in the lineup. He’s a classy guy and a great teammate. I was with him last night and the night before. He’s staying positive and he’s hopeful.

“We’re going to try to get this one and hopefully get him back if he can’t play this week.”

Nelson came away with fractured ribs after taking a helmet to that area by Giants cornerback Leon Hall last Sunday. The Packers have said Nelson will try to practice on Saturday and that will determine if he plays on Sunday.

We aren’t expecting to see 87 on the field this week. In fact, if the Packers win and keep winning, we’d be surprised if he returned prior to the Super Bowl.

That’s getting ahead of ourselves though. This week could very well be the Packers’ final game of the season and Jordy Nelson will probably be sidelined for it.

After watching Nelson take that hit, did anybody really think he’d be playing? McCarthy giving hope he might play was a blatant lie, and is one of the reasons i can’t stand him.

They held the guy overnight in the hospital for Christ sake. There is a reason for that, most likely they were worried about internal bleeding.

I broke 2 ribs and tore cartilage. I was there for maybe 45 minutes. No drugs, no ribs wrapped, they told me to have a nice day…lol

Without exaggeration, it took me 5- 6 months before i was able to swing a golf club. That’s a horrible injury when it’s severe.

I can’t believe we haven’t heard from the league on that hit yet.

It’s fucked up. It should be a large fine at least. If not a game suspension

Without Jordy the prospects look bleak.

Running with a rib injury — breathing deeply — is almost impossible. Taking a hit? Give me a break! WRs need focus as well and pain is not conducive to focus.

Not gonna play unless he is way drugged up. And then he would not play well.
