He may end up not winning the MVP, but Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was unquestionably the best player in the league in December.
Thus, he was given the NFC offensive player of the month award on Thursday.
Rodgers went 102-of-161 for 1,354 yards and 13 touchdowns with no interceptions over the final frame of the season. More importantly, he led the Packers to five wins over that span (including the Jan. 1 game in Detroit).
That run allowed the Packers to go from also ran to NFC North champs.
Rodgers also put himself into the MVP conversation with his play. Unfortunately for him, some early-season struggles may end up costing him his third such trophy.
Look at that picture above. That’s one cool ass cat right there.
Notice how he gives no fuck that Willie Young is bearing down on him, he’s busy waiting for a receiver to get open.
He then raised his left hand, and swatted away at Youngs helmet taking him out of the play while unleashing a rocket ball Davante Adams over the middle for 6.
This can’t be right. They should have recognized McCarthy instead.
