We don’t hear much from Green Bay Packers linebacker Julius Peppers usually. He’s one of those lead by example kind of guys.
However, with the Packers in a three-game skid, Peppers apparently felt like he needed to speak up. And what did he say?
“Yeah, we’re going to get it done,” the veteran linebacker asserted. “There’s no reason to believe anything other than that. In this locker room, we know where we stand. We don’t necessarily want to get caught up watching other teams and what they’re doing. We’re focusing on us, and we’ve just got to get a win. That’s the bottom line.”
I don’t know about you, but that sounds like Peppers guaranteeing a win to me.
Even though most of us have no faith in the Packers’ ability to pull out a win right now, the players seem to. Of course, most of them keep saying stuff like, “we just need to execute” and then they go out and fail to execute.
To his credit, Peppers didn’t go that route.
The Packers likely have some confidence this week, considering they went to Washington and beat the Redskins in the playoffs last year.
Peppers could certainly help the Packers’ cause by actually showing up this week. That’s something he hasn’t really done in the past two weeks.
When did Peppers get reactivated?
He’s going to look embarrassed when its 24-3 in the first half because the secondary can’t cover anyone and linebackers can’t stop the run.
In the last 4 games, Peppers has been paid 2 million dollars. His production in that stretch is 1 solo tackle, 1 assisted tackle, and 1 sack.
We have wayyy too many high priced players either not playing, or not producing.
