The Green Bay Packers will be without running back James Starks on Sunday. Starks was downgraded from questionable to out on the Saturday injury report.
If there’s good news, it’s that Eddie Lacy’s status didn’t change. He remains questionable with an ankle injury. At this point, we would assume Lacy will play simply because he’s played through an ankle injury before.
And the Packers better hope Lacy plays because their only other available running back will be fullback Aaron Ripkowski.
In the bad news department, cornerback Quinten Rollins was added to the injury report as questionable with a groin injury. Comically, that’s the same thing that happened to Damarious Randall last week — he pulled up with a phantom groin injury and was listed as questionable.
Randall didn’t play and is still listed as questionable on the injury report. With Sam Shields out with a concussion, that leaves the Packers potentially pretty thin at cornerback.
If Rollins sits out, we’d see LaDarius Gunter and probably undrafted rookie Josh Hawkins start with Micah Hyde in the slot. Safety Morgan Burnett would move down into coverage in the dime and be replaced by undrafted rookie Kentrell Brice deep.
Goodson and Pennel were activated. We will probably see Goodson instead of Hawkins.
