This played out pretty much exactly like we thought it would. No Eddie Lacy, no James Starks, no Quinten Rollins and no Damarious Randall for Thursday Night Football.
Those were big names. They were joined by tight end Jared Cook, receiver Jared Abbrederis and safety Chris Banjo in being listed as out for the game.
The only real surprise is Abbrederis, who never gets to play anyway. He pulled up with a quad injury at some point this week and now will not be able to take advantage of the expected absence of Davante Adams.
Adams is officially listed as questionable.
Lacy and Starks were expected to be sidelined, even though Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy gave Lacy a shot to play this morning. Lacy re-injured the ankle he shouldn’t have been playing on to begin with against Dallas. And now it’s seemingly injured worse than when he first injured it against the Giants the week before.
So were Rollins and Randall, both of whom have groin injuries. Rollins didn’t play against Dallas and we have been expecting him to miss his second consecutive game since Monday. Like Lacy, Randall came back to play against Dallas only to injure himself again.
These situations will make it tough on the Packers on Thursday.
The running game is expected to be held down by practice squader Don Jackson and Knile Davis, who was acquired just yesterday. Jackson hasn’t formally been added to the roster yet.
The defensive backfield will likely look similar to what it did after Randall left against Dallas — LaDarius Gunter, Demetri Goodson, Micah Hyde and maybe even rookie Josh Hawkins. Safety Morgan Burnett is also in play at cornerback after manning the dime corner spot last week.
We’d tell you to look on the bright side, that it’s only the Chicago Bears coming to town this week. Unfortunately, the Bears are probably saying that same thing about the Packers.
“Look guys, it’s only the Packers.”
“Look guys, it’s only mordecai Jones.”
No need to take article seriously.
So, other news, read the article about Don Jackson’s past. Actually interesting. I am rooting for the guy pretty hard actually
You’re rooting for him because he was a piece if shit at life?????
It is going to be hard for the Pack or the Bears to field 46 tomorrow. One of many reasons there should not be Thursday night games.
Under all day?
Bears are banged up as well. so at the end of the day you put who ya got on the field and you battle it out. There’s no crying in the NFL. No offence Jay.
