Here’s a great headline on the Green Bay Press-Gazette’s site from Thursday.
“Well, what is this horseshit?” I said.
The story goes on to say how the Green Bay Packers have been focusing on their passing game this week. That they realize they are in a lull and are emphasizing the passing game in order to try to get out of it.
And again I ask, “What is this horseshit?”
If the Packers are just now realizing their passing game isn’t working properly… Oh, wait a second, I forgot. Buffoon is the coach of the Green Bay Packers and as he is totally unaccountable, nothing is ever wrong with his offense. He’s been looking at this thing through rose colored glasses for the past year.
Let’s be serious here though.
To think — or even suggest — the Packers aren’t ALWAYS focusing on their passing game is a stupid notion. The Packers have always been a pass-first team under Mike McCarthy. They remained a pass-first team when Aaron Rodgers started to struggle in 2015. They remain a pass-first team now, even though conventional wisdom and their personnel suggest they should win games by playing defense and running the football.
McCarthy’s teams emphasize the passing game just by being who they are.
Oh, but this is a heightened emphasis! Because we’re in a lull…
At least you finally realize what everyone else has known since last year. We can’t wait to see what magic the heightened emphasis on the passing game produces on Sunday.
Really can’t wait!
Well fuck me Molly Qerim, good article Mordi.
If you watch the pressers like i do, you get the impression from McCarthy and his lackey Tom Clements that there isn’t any real problem. Also, if there is, they note that were only 4 games into the season. In other words, they are insulting our intelligence.
Maybe a reporter should remind them that this problem goes back to the majority of the 2015 season, it isn’t just 4 games in.
If our offense was clicking, we would have realistic Super Bowl expectations, like the one i had (before the season).
I am ALMOST to the point of hoping for losses to pile up. Maybe then, McCarthy would get off his high fucking horse and someone may actually go and wake up Ted from his nap. And maybe someone would tell Mark Murphy he is the President of the Green Bay Packers. Not the head developer of Titletown District.
The problem is Rodgers. Not the receivers getting open. Not the line. Not so much the scheme, but I think that has contributed to the Rodgers demise.
His completion percentage was almost 70 in the years immediately after the Super Bowl. In 2014 it was 65. Last year it was 60. It’s 56 now. See the trend? He’s entering Jamarcus Russell territory. Rick Mirer territory. Anthony Dilweg territory.
I love Aaron Rodgers, I think he’s a great guy, but this trend is headed one direction.
The demise gained traction after he got knocked around against Denver and has done nothing but gain momentum since.
If this metastasizing diva brings up trust as a WR issue one more time, ahmo break something.
Just throw ’em the damn ball.
Yes!! Quit worrying about building the brand and Titletown district and start worrying about the way the team is being run!! Without a good team..fans will not but the brand and Title town district will be a ghost town. The Vikings are spending money, drafting well and filling holes…they hold people accountable…the cut underachievers. I remember when the Pack was like that….time to start looking gating a fire here
Who the hell are they trying to fool. The reason they are emphasizing the passing game in practice is because they have no running backs to practice the running game. Fuck! all the available running backs (1) and two fullbacks are working the scout team against our D to prepare them for the upcoming game against the #1 rushing team.
when I watch the game sometime I imagine that mike mccarthy’s play calling sheet is a menu from harold’s chicken
