Eddie Lacy Reportedly Won’t Play Thursday

The Green Bay Packers will reportedly have a completely different looking backfield on Thursday night than they’ve had at any point this season. Eddie Lacy, who played last week on a bum ankle, reportedly will not play, according to an unnamed ESPN source.

Lacy hasn’t practiced this week after not finishing the Dallas game. He first injured his ankle the week before against the Giants. Normally, Lacy’s carries would go to James Starks, but he had knee surgery Sunday morning and is expected to be out at least through this week.

That prompted the Packers to trade for Knile Davis Tuesday morning. It appears the moves won’t stop there either.

ESPN is also reporting that the Packers will bring running back Don Jackson up off the practice squad.

Of course, that will require them to make another roster move. The team placed Sam Shields on injured reserve in order to bring in Davis.

When all of this is said and done, the Packers will have four running backs on the active roster.

Good. Best news I’ve heard all week.

I’ve said it once and let me say it again….FUCK THE RUN GAME! FUCK IT. We do NOT need it. Fat McCarthy is getting a gift right now and he doesn’t even realize it. It’s time to let Rodgers do what Matt Ryan, Tom Brady, Big Ben, Luck, Brees and just about every other QB in the NFL does in the 21st Century — THROW THE FOOTBALL….50 fucking times! Who cares about the run game, seriously, you DONT NEED ONE to be efficient in today’s game. The only time it’s worth a shit is when your 3rd and inches and running down the clock in the 4th Quarter. Seriously.

Go 5-wide, let Nelson, Cobb, Montgomery, Janis and JA run wild. Use Knile is the screen game and go from there. Why the fuck not? Davis is more than capable of running simple screens. Lets your $20M QB get back in a groove and just throw — let him find himself. You ain’t going to get Rodgers back to MVP form by having him hand the fucking ball off, that ain’t gonna work, LET HIM THROW! ALL DAY. 40-50 times.

    Fuck the run game.

I remember when the packers didn’t run the ball once and pass rushers teed off on Rodgers. He is too drunk to evade the pass rushers

We would’ve had at least another Super Bowl if Walking Dead Ted would’ve made the trade with Buffalo instead of letting the Seahawks get him. Day late dollar short Ted. Please retire

So….Do the Packers and the medical staff get held accountable for this mess? The medical staff for clearing him. Ted and big Mike for not bringing up, or getting another running back so they didn’t have to put Lacy in a must play position.

Looking at Lacy’s ankle at the start of the game, i figured he was hurting with the excessive amount of tape and wrap he had around his ankle. Should not of been playing, but they didn’t want to have to clear a roster spot. Now they pay the price.

Now we head into a game with 1 new RB, with maybe 1 day of practice, no back up, with 1 carry this season for -2 yards.

Nice job Ted….now go back to sleep..

Same thing they did with Barrington last year because they had no ILB depth. Same thing they tried to do with Montgomery because they had no receiver depth. The team as I said last week should have elevated Jackson at least. Who in their right mind does not have at least 3 running backs available for an NFL game. Negligence on the part of several in Packer management, and at least one in medical.
