That empty roster spot that you thought was going to C.J. Spiller? Not going to C.J. Spiller. It went to defensive tackle Brian Price, who the Green Bay Packers elevated from the practice squad.
Price is an undrafted free agent from Texas San Antonio. He spent camp with the Packers and played pretty well.
This move makes a lot of sense in retrospect. The Packers are down to four healthy defensive linemen at the moment — Mike Daniels, Dean Lowry, Kenny Clark and Christian Ringo. Letroy Guion injured his knee on Sunday against Minnesota.
Mike Pennel, of course, has two games left on his suspension. The Packers could currently use the depth.
The team also brought back another familiar face to fill Price’s spot on the practice squad. They re-signed cornerback Robertson Daniel.
There was another guy who had a nice camp this year. He just got caught in a numbers game, getting beat out by undrafted rookie Josh Hawkins for a roster spot.
I thought both of these moves were going to occur last week. The Daniel move is another sign that Shields may not be back for sometime, if ever.
Shields went to a specialist, which isn’t a good sign.
There will be an article about it in here just as soon as they read Demovsky’s article about it.
Never expect ass-wipe Thompson to bring in someone with speed, big play capability to help us out. NOOOO, make practice squad move. Teds probably gassed after that decision. Nap-Time for 3-4 weeks now.
