The Green Bay Packers announced their 10-man practice squad on Monday. As usual, the list includes a number of familiar faces.
The biggest get is receiver Geronimo Allison, who performed well with the Packers throughout camp and the preseason. There was some question if Allison would clear waivers.
He did and he’s back.
Here’s the full list.
- Receiver Geronimo Allison
- Linebacker Carl Bradford
- Linebacker Beniquez Brown
- Linebacker Reggie Gilbert
- Defensive lineman Brian Price
- Guard Lucas Patrick
- Receiver Herb Waters
- Safety Jermaine Whitehead
- Guard Blake Muir
- Running back Don Jackson
Only Muir wasn’t with the Packers in camp. The undrafted rookie spent camp with the 49ers. He had a tryout with the Packers on Sunday.
What happened to Robinson Daniels? Suprised he cleared waivers. Didn’t make GB or anyone else’s practice squad. I must not know how to watch pre season games.
Or spell names for that matter-Robertson*-and he got outplayed and out-practiced at CB by Dorleant and Hawkins
Did Makinton Dorleant stand out in any of the preseason games you saw Phatgzus? Enough that you would think he would have made the final 53? I honestly don’t recall him playing, but I only watched about 2 full games on TiVo and the 4th quarter of the 49er game. I could have missed something fast forwarding through some of the garbage. I never heard anything about the guy all through training camp.
Didn’t notice him too much, saw some decent coverage when I did; about the same as Daniel from the little I saw. I think Hawkins outplayed them both.
The last 4 guys I don’t get, but eh, whatever, it’s just the practice squad.
Remember, there is always a lot of turnover of practice squad players thru out the season. To start, these are guys that the Packers probably believe have more upside than some others.
I would guess at some point as soon as Josh Walker gets past his injury settlement time + 3 weeks he is getting resigned to PS or 53.
