Hey, you ginger fuck. You’re cut!
We imagine that’s what Big Ted told punter Tim Masthay when he released him today.
This comes a day after the Green Bay Packers released their other punter, Peter Mortell.
So who’s the punter?
Jacob Schum.
The Packers claimed Schum off waivers from Tampa Bay.
Schum. Rhymes with chum, which are fish guts you throw into the water when you’re trying to attract sharks.
And this is great. Makes perfect sense.
Mortell averaged 45.1 yards per kick in the preseason. Masthay averaged 42.8. Schum has averaged 42.1 and averaged 41.9 in 2015, his lone season in the league.
So this was definitely done in the proper order. You first release the guy with the best average and then work your way back until you can sign the guy with the worst average.
Big Ted! Outsmarting everyone once again!
If TT, MM or Zook says “it’s about consistency” at the press conference, we all have to drink.
So they keep Mortell around for all this time only to cut both punters. Now headcase Crosby will be out of sorts for another season saying the angle of the ball on the hold was off by 3 degrees…my bestie ginger head held it better. They just need to go for it on all 4th downs, I don’t remember them ever having a good punter. Was Craig Hentrich the last good punter on this team? They ran his ass out of town too over $$$. Plus I saw Masthay was making $1.2M. I immediately went out in the back yard and hit a 25 yard shank, I’m heading to GB as an UDFA, I’ll probably sign tomorrow.
Yes, Craig Hentrich, good call. Last punter worth a shit in these parts. Too rich for our blood, dumbasses.
Because Wolf didn’t want to make him the first million dollar punter right?
post your tryout please, thank you (Good luck!)
How’s his pad level?
Username checks out. Holy shit, another former Packer turned Viking that can be added to the list. For those who don’t know, “He played five seasons for the Green Bay Packers (1983–1984) and the Minnesota Vikings (1987–1989).”
Can you believe this? Just two days after I said that the tone was set for another season of
buffoonary they follow up.
Ahem* As a ginger myself, I mourn the release of such an accomplished athlete. Absolutely with bias.
What gingers are going to be left on the final roster? Yes, I do need to know this. Thank you for understanding.
TT “The frugal GM” will find another cheap punter to go with the ever expanding list of average punters he has used. More buffoonery is correct . . . I am still trying to figure out why the fucktard got rid of Jon Ryan. Ryans stat’s look damn good since TT let him go. http://www.nfl.com/player/jonryan/2506613/profile
here is PFF’s take on Jon Ryan. He made their to ten list at #10. 10. Jon Ryan, Seahawks (+8.0)
Only 36.1 percent of Ryan’s punts have been returned, fifth-lowest among full-time punters. He’s currently 10th in the league in gross punting average (46.8), fourth in punts downed inside the 20 (14), and second in fair catches forced (12).
As you can see another GREAT move from “the frugal GM” . . .
