Brett Favre and Big Ted Are All Good Now!

This is what you call a storybook ending, people. After years of silence and acrimony, perceived or otherwise, Brett Favre and Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson — the guy who sent him packing — are all good.

That’s one of the nuggets Big Ted discussed in his press conference on Friday, which may be the last time we see the guy until the 2017 draft.

“I think it’s important for the organization and the player to be in a good place,” Thompson said. “For me, it’s a selfish thing. Like I’ve said before, we never had a crossed word, and still haven’t. But circumstances put us all in situations that we were uncomfortable with, and I think that happens in life. I think life throws you curve balls.”

Hell yeah, that was uncomfortable!

Whether there were words exchanged or not is really irrelevant. Favre let it be known what he thought of Thompson, Mike McCarthy and the Packers when he decided to play for the Minnesota Vikings.

That’s why we laughed at that photo above. It was taken when Favre rolled back into town for his Packers Hall of Fame induction during the summer of 2015. If that wasn’t forced and/or staged then I’m a fucking duck.

Over the years, we heard the stories about how Thompson would text Favre. However, Brett didn’t engage with the Packers again until about four years after he retired. The first time he talked to Ted was probably right there in that hallway.

But look, Ted’s all in on Brett’s Pro Football Hall of Fame induction.

“People are working night and day to try to pull off the logistics of all of it. We certainly are hoping to make it, and we think we will. By hook or by crook, that’s the plan.”

Do you think Favre will thank Thompson in his speech?

If his Packers Hall of Fame speech is any indication, he won’t. Favre thanked about a million people that night, right down to janitors. A couple guys were very conspicuously not thanked — Big Ted and Fat Mike.

That couldn’t have been by design though, right?

If that was a staged photo it may have been better to not stage it in front of an exit sign considering the history.

      Good catch.

Congratulations to the author. He is an F’n duck. That photo was not staged or forced. Unless he wants to accuse Brett Favre of lying when he told SI Ted sent him those texts. The acrimony has gone away since then as Brett has claimed. And by the way, Brett did mention Mike McCarthy in his speech at the Packer HOF. Man are the writers here a bunch of arrogant asses.
