Formalities, all of them, but fifth-round pick Trevor Davis is the first 2016 draft pick to agree to terms with the Green Bay Packers.
Davis is the receiver from Cal you’ve been wondering what the hell the Packers are going to do with.
Well, we’ll see.
For now, they’re going to agree to pay him about $500,000 a year. Davis’ maximum allowable salary cap number in 2016 is $506,481.
Rookie salaries are dictated by the collective bargaining agreement based upon where the player was taken in the draft. Each team has a rookie salary pool. The Packers’ is approximately $5.3 million.
The CBA also dictates draft picks get four-year deals, with first-round picks getting a team option for a fifth season.
So Davis will make over $2 million in the next four years.

Still like this pick, a lot. I think Jared is bye-bye.
I think this guy is going to make a difference on the Packers. Look at his highlights on youtube. He’s got 5 yards of separation behind the safety and he catches the ball in stride over his shoulder. Kind of looks like James Lofton when he runs too.
