I remember when I wrote something about Aaron Rodgers having a bad season back in December. It was met by some — I will assume, blindly faithful and uneducated — as preposterous, as if it were based on some sort of voodoo opinion of a football witch doctor.
It was, in fact, based entirely on two things — statistics and watching the guy play every week. Statistically, Rodgers had the worst season of his career. He posted career lows in yards per pass, rating, yards per game and completions of 40-plus.
He failed the eye test too. Rodgers’ trademark accuracy disappeared. His poise seemed nonexistent at times.
Sometimes he looked disinterested.
But how dare we criticize the mighty Aaron Rodgers, right?
Well, Pro Football Focus released their top 101 player rankings for 2015 today. Guess who wasn’t on the list.
If you said Aaron Rodgers, you’re the big winner!
The list isn’t about value. It’s about the player’s level of play versus what is expected from their position.
So Rodgers being the quarterback of a playoff team and two-time MVP had no baring on the rankings. Only his execution or lack thereof of the plays he participated in during the 2015 season.
And like we said last year, not real good.
Not surprisingly, at least to us, Mike Daniels was the top Packer in the rankings, coming at No. 47. Guard T.J. Lang came in at No. 56 and Josh Sitton came in at No. 65.
You can see the full list here.
That list though, smh.
11 cornerbacks made the list, who’s missing?
Monty’s right, Rodgers was horrible. There wasn’t any reason why Rodgers shouldn’t be able to get rid of the ball in under 2 seconds, surely his receivers should be open with that kind of time. Rodgers better step it up. That chic is fucking with his head man!!!!
The problem is we are expecting Super Bowl 2 now. We got our 2 with Favre and felt empty after 32.
Rodgers, whom we all agree is a better quarterback, has produced 1.
You can blah blah blah about how the league is different or something but bottom line were watching a possible GOAT candidate with only 1 Super Bowl.
So yes 30+ tds and single digit interceptions are great, but did it produce to what we expect of the best quarterback our team has ever seen? No
That list clearly indicates the past year means nothing. Look at all the players that were either unranked the year before or dropped substantially from the previous year. I guess the list means a lot if your living in the past. Here’s to a better year for the TEAM with an in shape Lacy, a healthy o line, WR group, and QB, some additional speed at receiver/TE, and some real backup tackles.
By the way. What the fuck is the deal with the bullshit that is were my name should be? Is that some sort of tracking shit? Howard
Once again Total TMZ Packers climbs to the top of the mountain and proclaims they were there first!
You’re not telling anybody anything they didn’t already know.
But keep fucking that chicken!
Oh, and your source is a fucking top 100 list!? That’s gold, Jerry! GOLD! That’s some real hard nose journalism right there! But this isn’t a news site. It’s a BLOG written by a bunch of tools who have proven once again that, not only are they intellectual lazy, but they don’t know what fuck the are talking about.
How’s your Mom’s basement this time of year? Does she still drive you to the mall on the weekends and cut the crust off your sandwiches?
Where do i find these hot asian women looking for older guys advertised on this site?
guy put up 31 and 8 with the slowest receivers in the league. and still went 2 deep in the playoffs and that was a bad season. eh.
Rodgers dropped off considerably the final 10 games and the thing is, he never really recovered. His 90+ QB season rating doesn’t tell the whole story. The final 10 games he had something like an 81 QB rating, which would have ranked him as one of the worst QBs in the league. And even the 81 QB rating, a lot success he had, like in the Carolina game, came at garbage time.
I hope this drop was because of injuries to 3 or 4 receivers and the shaky offensive line. But until I see definite improvement this season, you, maybe Rodgers is suffering from the yips.
