If you’re like all of us here, then you have had your fill of Don Barclay playing football in Green Bay.
Unfortunately, the Green Bay Packers really, really like substandard backup offensive lineman. So, we’re all going to get at least another year of Barclay.
Tom Silverstein says the Packers will re-sign Barclay, who is an unrestricted free agent, on Monday, when the team’s offseason program begins.
I mean, we’re just fucking overjoyed!
On the positive, Barclay has 23 starts in his four-year career. On the negative, this shit brick gave up a team-high nine sacks in 2015, despite starting just five games.
He was bad as a starting right tackle and worse as a starting left tackle.
Shawn has and would again tell you Barclay is not suited to play tackle at all. Rather, he’s possibly a decent backup guard, but the Packers will never know because they insist he’s a tackle. That is, despite the WEALTH of evidence in 2015 that Barclay is absolutely fucking NOT a tackle.
Oh well!
So long as David Bakhtiari, Bryan Bulaga and J.C. Tretter don’t all get injured, we’ve got nothing to worry about!
Perhaps the Packers were confused as to exactly who Barclay was after his big national media campaign this offseason.
Either way, no one rewards mediocrity like the Packers!
He’s a fucking guard!!!! Stop trying to make players into something they’re not Packers!
He was quite good in Pitch Perfect 2.
Maybe that’s what they have in mind here, they are going to have a couple free agent guards after this season.
He will play at an all-pro level this year. Mark my words.
Wasn’t he still coming back from knee re-construction last year? If my recollection is correct then I’m willing to give him some slack for last year. Before he got hurt he was reasonably solid – actually surprisingly so because of his draft status (or lack thereof).
It’s good to know Total TMZ Packers is still shitting on players. I bet anyone of the writers here could go out and play for a NFL team.
Keep fucking that chicken.
Stop pretending like you know more about evaluating talent than the Packers. If you did you’d be working for an NFL team.
