It has been a foregone conclusion by us that Scott Tolzien will be playing elsewhere in 2016.
Although we enjoy us some Scooter Tolzien, the Green Bay Packers have Brett Hundley ready to take over the No. 2 quarterback job. In other words, they don’t have a need to re-sign Tolzien, who is an unrestricted free agent.
Tolzien is not without suitors, however.
Scoots has already lined up a visit with the Indianapolis Colts and is drawing interest from the Chicago Bears, according to the Journal Sentinel.
Obviously, if Tolzien signed with either team, it would be as a backup.
There had been talk of getting a shot at a starting job, but Tolzien obviously wouldn’t be displacing Andrew Luck in Indy or our main man Cutty! in Chicago.
The Colts are in dire need of a competent backup, since Matt Hasselbeck formally retired earlier this week. The Bears are in a similar boat, with David Fales currently listed second on the depth chart.
Although the league clearly doesn’t view Scooter as starting material, he has looked like a solid backup during his brief time with the Packers.
I mean, Scoots obviously has athletic ability to burn. Lest you forget, let us remind you…
What about the QBless Broncos?
