That role in Pitch Perfect 2 is really starting to pay dividends for Don Barclay!
Gillette… or Walmart… or Gillette and Walmart have cast Barclay and fellow Green Bay Packers offensive linemen David Bakhtiari and Corey Linsley in a campaign called The Protectors.
They protect the quarterback, you see and Gillette probably has a new razor with 87 blades that protects your face. Whoever is responsible for this also got ESPN’s Adam Schefter onboard to do some hard-hitting, gritty one-on-one interviews with the guys.
Unfortunately, only Bakhtiari’s is available at the moment.
But let’s back up here a moment.
Yes, Barclay was in Pitch Perfect 2, along with Bakhtiari, guards T.J. Lang and Josh Sitton and linebacker Clay Matthews. At the time that movie was made, Barclay was coming off a season in which he started 14 games at right tackle in place of an injured Bryan Bulaga.
Linsley had just finished up his senior year at Ohio State, so he totally missed that fun (it seems that’s okay with him).
Now, however, things are a little different. Bakhtiari is the Packers’ starting left tackle. Linsley is their starting center.
Barclay?
Donny Barclay is a backup and not a very good one at that. We’re talking about a guy who gave up four sacks in week 16 of the 2015 season while trying to play left tackle.
And you know what else?
He’s also an unrestricted free agent. Considering his 2015 performance, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Packers want nothing to do with Barclay.
So the geniuses that came up with this campaign decided to cast a backup, who isn’t very good and may not even be with the team he’s representing in the campaign in a month or so.
Because of his standout role in Pitch Perfect 2?
Must have been.
Hollywood’s calling, Donny!
Should be hawking lead shoes.
What a wonderful article. I love how your spineless ass won’t even write your name at the end of it, saying who your sorry ass is. My guess is, you have never played an organized sport in your life. Clearly you are not update on your player information, or what they have done throughout your career. Holly woods calling YOUR name, jackass.
