If you subscribe to the where there’s smoke there’s fire theory, then you’ll be pleased to know the Green Bay Packers have a formal meeting with Alabama inside linebacker Reggie Ragland today.
No surprise, but Alabama ILB Reggie Ragland said he's having a formal interview with #Packers later today at NFL scouting combine.

Ragland is the top inside linebacker in the draft and has been connected with the Packers on more than one occasion.
The Packers would most likely have to trade up to get Ragland, but if they do, he would be the type of playmaking inside linebacker they haven’t had in some time.
Ted will trade all Green Bay’s 2016 picks for him…next story to break. Never know how the draft will go…maybe he will fall to Ted like Rodgers, Lacy, Cobb, Ha Ha..if only Ted chose Allen Robinson instead of Davante he would be a genius.
TT moved up in the draft for Clay, anything is possible
In the words of MM, “We might shock you this year.”
Already have 2 of these guys in Barrington and Ryan. Need someone with more speed and length if a ILB is taken.
Pretty much, Ragland is talented but you can get some pretty good 2-down LBs later in the draft. There are a number of talented D-linemen that may very well be able to the Packers in the bottom of the first, maybe even 2nd. Some pretty highly-rated O-linemen may be available as well. Then there’s always Jaylon Smith, who knows how far he’ll fall, though I’d be surprised if TT would spend a high pick on a player with a major injury.
TE is way overrated and the talent at the top isn’t all that impressive, some decent talent may be available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. We are also much more likely to have a healthier WR corps next year and say what you will about Richard Rodgers, but he catched TDs and and converts 3rd-downs.
Not ready to close the book on davante Adams yet. Let’s not give up on the guy already.
I don’t see a Luke Kuechly type player here…moving on. We need a playmaking ILB via free agency more so than another rookie. But you never know…
Fuck you Kato
^haha ok?
If Ragland is gone and Jaylon Smith is still on the board we should pick him. Vise versa. Watching Smiths interviews at the combine really made me like the guy.
Not likely in the first round, Carlos Hyde was once a top prospect and he fell to the 4th or 5th round.
Jaylon Smith probably won’t even be able to play this year. And beyond that, he’ll be recovering from a very serious injury. You want to waste a pick, that’s a good way to go.
Can’t be any worse than the Justin Harrell pick. Maybe in this case the risk is worth the reward.
