Where Aaron Rodgers is Kobe Bryant

Aaron Rodgers

Colin Cowherd has been very critical of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers this season. We would argue he’s done so in a very respectful way, however.

How is that possible?

Cowherd is always quick to point out Rodgers’ great talent and that never comes into question. What always comes into question is Rodgers’ leadership.

And that’s what came into question on Friday, when Cowherd compared Rodgers to Kobe Bryant.

Both great talents individually, but neither elevates the guys around them. They need other great players to win titles.

Sounds like something we’ve said before.

Here’s the segment.

Lastly, we’ll point this out.

Rodgers could completely rewrite this narrative if he carries this Packers team far into the playoffs. And frankly, we hope he does.

This guy is talking out of his ass. He criticizes Rodgers and Kobe for not being able to win championships when the talent of their teammates “dips,” yet he has no problem with Elway or MJ who couldn’t win any championships until they got better teammates/ coaches.

Lebron (the great leader apparently), didn’t win shit until he left for Miami to play with Wade and Bosh. If you don’t remember, Lebron was a huge crybaby who quit on the Cavs in that last series in the finals before he made “the decision” and left town. Real mature bro. But I thought leaders didn’t need talent around them?

Brady is one of the biggest whiners I’ve ever seen when things don’t go his way. If he had to deal with the Packers offensive line and Davante Adams he’d be in tears.

Thank for for that voice of reason.

You know who can win without great teammates? Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, Serena Williams, Roger Federer… Get it?

They are called TEAM sports for a reason. MJ never won a title without Scottie Pippen, and frankly, I don’t think he would have won a single title without him.

Not that basketball where only 5 guys take the floor is a good comparison anyway. Football is the truest team sport, and the sport’s greatest like Dan Marino and Barry Sanders never won a title either. Did they make guys around them better? Hell yeah, they did.

There is no question that Aaron Rodgers makes his receivers better… when he is playing well. He just hasn’t played that well this season, period. People will always look to make it something more than it is, but it wouldn’t be a game if you played at the same level every time.

Leahy’s facial expressions whenever Colon starts talking crack me up. You can tell she cant stand him and thinks he’s full of shit but she knows her role on the show is only for eye candy and for ratings so it doesn’t matter.

Funny that the leadership question gets brought up this season. This is his 8th season playing. Why weren’t these talking head “experts” talking about Rodgers lack of leadership before, like when he won a SB, 2 MVP’s, ect? Are they on the field with him? In practice with him? In the locker room with him? Who made Cowherd the authority on this? Maybe he played pop warner football, idk. These fucks don’t know shit, other than to try to get a headline.

We have major 0 line issues, best receiver out, Cobb and Adams have regressed. So, Rodgers all of a sudden has no leadership skills? Fuck Cowherd and any other armchair QB who thinks like him.

Sluuuuurp. Sluuuurp. He’s always had leadership issues. That’s why just about every wide receiver he’s ever had has talked shit about him and called him out.

The press has too. Go back and read the Journal Sentinel after we lost to the Giants after going 15-1 that year. I don’t think Cowherd is wrong.

Yes he makes receivers better by throwing the ball well, but he’s not the consummate leader like Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, etc.

Sorry to say but from a demeanor/leadership standpoint, Rodgers is more Jay Cutler than we’d all care to admit.

It’s been brought up plenty of times while they were winning and playing well…like not this year.

Do you even know why the Packers were 15-1? Do you think it was because of the defense?

I’m embarrassed that you even claim to be a Packer fan.

He is a fucking shithawks troll from last year back with a new stealth ID handle. I pointed this out before. Go read his past posted comments for yourself.

I hope he s just like kobe. I’ll take 5 f’ING titles and be very happy with it. Cowturd is a complete idiot. Go get fired from another job loser

I don’t buy that Rodgers has leadership issues. That being said, if Rodgers starts out this game missing receivers and shows that questioning/frustrated look again, the game is over.
