Half of the players have pulled out of the Pro Bowl this year, so Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy may as well too, right?
That’s what happened on Wednesday. The Packers announced that McCarthy won’t be coaching in the game because of a stomach illness.
That’s what you get for drinking all that gravy straight out of the boat, Mike.
McCarthy’s staff will still travel to Hawaii and coach in the game. The interim head coach, if you will, will be associate head coach/linebackers coach Winston Moss.
The Pro Bowl coaching staffs are chosen from two of the teams that lose in the divisional round of the playoffs. As the Packers are regulars at doing that, McCarthy and his staff have coached in the game three times already.
Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid and his staff are coaching the other squad, this year.
