Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams avoided serious injury, i.e. a torn ACL, on Sunday, but he reportedly has a sprained MCL.
That injury is likely to keep him out of this Sunday’s game with Arizona.
And just when they started calling him Mr. January…
Seriously, that happened. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers called Adams, who has been a gigantic disappointment all season long, Mr. January after the Packers’ Wild Card victory.
Adams did have a nice game — four catches for 48 yards and touchdown — before injuring his knee. The injury happened when tight end Richard Rodgers fell awkwardly over Adams.
It was a like a train wreck of suck, those two guys running into each other.
Anyway, Adams didn’t return after that.
So what’s the timetable? There’s been no projection, but right tackle Bryan Bulaga sprained an MCL early in the season and he missed three games.
The injury likely means Adams is done for the season.
And what does that mean?
Get ready for more Jerry Abberderry!
That’s Badger great Jared Abbrederis to the layman.
Abbrederis got a boost in playing time after Adams went down. The good news here is, Abbrederis is arguably a better receiver than Adams. He’s most certainly a better route runner.
Hell, your boy Jeff Janis might even get on the field one of these days!
“Hell, your boy Jeff Janis might even get on the field one of these days!”
Monty, I didn’t know you were comedian!
Anyone see Janis repping the porn stache?
Could be addition by subtraction like when we lost kampman and played walden and the Bs middle linebacker last year when he was good Brad Jones. But we improved as a direct result
Or losing Finley and Nick Barnett the year they won the Super Bowl.
Mr. January doesn’t sound like much of a compliment. It just means you sucked ass all year and are now starting to play decent. I don’t know what’s Rodgers infatuation with Adams. Talks about him like he’s the next big thing. 360 between the leg tomahawk dunks are pretty sweet, but they don’t mean shit on the football field.
Rodgers like Adams for his potential. He has great combo of size, quickness and athletic ability. What he lacks is what’s upstairs (focus and concentration). Reminds me of JMike. Hopefully he can mature and play up to his potential next year. He’s done this year. Looking forward to big game by Abby and maybe Janis sighting. I can’t wait for them to get Janis going on a screen play. That dude can take it to the house.
Maybe it will have the same effect losing Jimmy Graham had on Seattle, force them to open up the offense a little more and stop beating a dead horse that was getting them nowhere, despite a good game on Sunday.
It’s Abbrederis time baby!
Adams or Abbrederis… it’s a wash this season. What it boils down to is Rodgers having time to throw. If the Packers can keep Don Barclay and Josh Walker OFF the field, that would be a step in the right direction.
Much like me winning the Billion dollar Powerball jackpot, the Packers do have a ‘chance’ this week. Go Pack Go!
Me thinks you have to get Janis on the field more. Abby isn’t an outside receiver and neither is Cobb.
That leaves Jones and Janis. Maybe we will see what I have been clamoring for for what seems like years….
Hurry up offense with 4 receivers and a running back on the field, shotgun formation with either the RB or Randall Cobb lining up in and out of the backfield.
Spread the field and up tempo all game.
It could work!
I have a feeling the Cards are going to do everything they can to keep Rodgers off the field. It’s their only hope. And they did a great job of it last time we met. Our offence was non-existent. To me, the key to winning this game will be our defence and how well they contain Palmer. I think we have the guys to get the job done and do to them what we know they want to do to us. Control the clock and keep Palmer on the bench. Then we have a chance.
I ragged on Adams a lot, but I was happy when he started to play better recently. We need all the weapons we can get to have any chance to advance. His more recent performances warranted his playing time, and if we assume that that trend would NOT take a step back, then we can assume that he will be missed.
Rodgers talks about Adams the same way he talked about/worked with Finley.
