Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams wasn’t any good in 2015.
There’s not really anything more to be said about that.
If you watched him play, you know what we’re talking about. Poorly-run routes, inability to gain separation, inability to win jump balls and, sometimes, inability to catch the ball at all.
Adams had 10 drops in 2015, for a drop percentage of 16.67. And that’s the only number that put him anywhere near the top the league.
Drop percentage: 10th.
Adams finally showed some flashes of what everyone expected of him at the beginning of the year in the last two games he played. Before injuring his knee against Washington (and the week before against Minnesota), Adams was solid, showing that he could indeed break tackles and gain yards after the catch.
Still, what everyone will remember from Adams’ 2015 season is that he was terrible.
Fifty catches, 483 yards, one touchdown. That’s 9.7 per catch.
Well, Adams has heard everyone bagging on him and he thinks we can all go to hell.
“The way this game is,” Adams said, “they hate you, and then as soon as you make a play, they’re back to loving you. It’s just a matter of time. You just have to make plays and block out the outside noise and keep playing. My coaches and my quarterback, they already know. The outside people, they’re the ones who need reminding.
“My teammates and everybody (inside the team) already know what I’m capable of. I don’t feel like I need to prove anything to them. Obviously with practice and things like that, you want to show Aaron that you’re going to make those catches so he’ll keep throwing them. But I’ve done things like that on a consistent enough basis that he knows that.”
Adams didn’t remind us of anything other than how he didn’t belong on the field in 2015. Well, with the exception being those last two games. Then he at least looked like a serviceable NFL receiver.
Yet, the coaches just kept running him out there.
He must have been the highlight king in practice.
Seriously, we certainly hope the ankle injury Adams suffered back in week 3 affected him all season long. You and I both know we’re stuck with this clown because he’s Ted’s boy.
If Adams comes back healthy and rebounds with a 2016 season that reminds us of the guy who torched the Patriots as a rookie, we’ll be first in line to pat him on the back.
It takes recievers in green bays offense sometimes. He probably needed to be brought along more slowly and wasn’t ready to be the primary threat. I am pulling hard for him, he will be an important contributor if they get where they want to go.
I agree. Nelson didn’t come on until his 4th year. Same with Donald Driver.
He was put in a role too early and he was injured.
Him AND Cobb need to start doing a lot of reminding. I almost forgot 18 was even on the team this year. It’s hard to forget about Adams when he’s targeted 10+ times a game and doesn’t do shit.
His explanation is nonsensical, saying people hate you if you play poorly, love you if you play well, and then concluding he doesn’t have to prove anything. So he’s basically saying go ahead and hate me, because I’m going to suck and not prove anything. Sounds like a talentless Terrell Owens, who was a moron but could at least make you love him with his play.
Total Head case and should be shown the door.
I think he’s so dumb he actually believes everyone will love him for making one play and disregard a full season of being awful.
Also the fans pay good money to watch these guys play and we can have any damn opinion we want for that fact alone. I don’t want to be devante Adams friend and he sure as hell doesn’t want to be mine….. So he should shut up and prove to the fans what the organization allegedly knows about him
I think Sam Shields has the highest pass droped percentage in the NFL.

It took jordy 3 years. Give Adams a fair shot. He was thrusted into a larger role than he was ready for! He will be great in 2016!
Adams is guilty of is being the victim of Packers fans Finleyitis, where if a guy shows a pulse, it’s proclaimed ‘he’ll be one of the best in the game’ and ‘a match-up nightmare’. And like FinMe before him, Adams showed catching prowess on par with Frankenstein.
The only nightmares FinMe and Adams produce are the ones they give fans when a ball is thrown their way.
Show him the door, along with TT and MC.
He needs to channel his inner Jeff Janis. All things are possible through Jeff Janis. I reported through time because of my inner Jeff janis
Teleported fucking auto correct. Sorry English teachers.
Some day I hope I learn I can talk Shit on my team as long as it is spelled correctly and gramtically correct.
Ted blows, but that’s not what makes him a shit GM!
Friend of mine went to the Viking game in Green Bay. He said Adams came out on the field for pregame warm ups 15 minutes after the rest of the receivers were out there. He could have been legitimately late for any number of reasons. Based on his comments, my guess is his focus is shit and he just doesn’t care at this point in his career. It hasn’t clicked for him yet. He sure as hell isn’t leading by example.
You’ll be sucking his cock if has 8 TDs and 1,000 yards next season. Then you’ll blame his past regression on poor coaching. You’re broken record, man. Time to find a new track.
Adams in ’14, as did Boykin the yr before, benefited from having the Jordy/Cobb (Jones too in ’13) dynamic in play….which drastically altered scheme & coverages in his favor. He was not afforded that luxury in ’15 & as only a 2nd yr player, struggled with the added burden & responsibility that comes with moving up the depth chart. He only caught 30+ balls his rookie yr & the next yr is asked to be “go to.” Really? It doesnt take a crystal ball to see that was a risky proposition. He simply wasnt ready for it nor was Janis, Abbrederis, or Montgomery either. Doesnt mean they suck & are lost causes, just not ready yet. TT rolled the dice on “his guys only” and it came up bust….as was the offensive production & hence the season as well. End of story.
You couldn’t be anymore correct. He had a great game against the Patriots, give him his due, but…, you still have to consider the Patriots defensive strategy was to take away Jordy and Cobb. but i still disagree with most fans that they went to him too long, and others should have gotten more playing time. I didn’t much care who caught the ball last season, i just wanted someone to catch the damn ball.
Would’ve preferred drafting Allen Robinson who went a few picks later to the Jags, but hey, what do I/ we know right?
Saying it after the fact doesn’t mean shit. sorry man.

Over-rated fuck can go to hell
It seemed like Adams drop rate was really about 50%.
No Ryan, your reply sucks. Every player in the NFL make mistakes. Since Tom Brady has lost more than 1 playoff game with a game ending interception, does he suck too? Bad analogy on my part as I believe Brady does suck, but he’s a very good qb.
