Here’s something cool. Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews, making his first trip to the Pro Bowl as an inside linebacker, took the rest of the team’s inside backers with him to Hawaii.
Matthews was on The Rich Eisen Show on Friday and he mentioned it.
“I need to make up for bringing out all of these linebackers right here. That’s vacation money,” Matthews said in reference to the winning team’s Pro Bowl paychecks.
“I brought out the inside linebackers. They were with me throughout the entire year, so we’re out here enjoying ourselves and having some fun.”
Here’s a shot from Jake Ryan’s Instagram.
Here’s Nate Palmer complaining about traffic.
I didn't know Hawaii had traffic ?

Good guy, that Clay Matthews.
Hell yeah, Clay stepping into that leadership role.
If you go to Oahu expecting no traffic, you’re going to have a bad time.
Clay taking people to Hawaii is like me buying someone lunch. Meh
Except it’s still something he doesn’t have to do, but he decided to do it anyway. Everyone bitched about him not being a leader then he does something nice for his fellow ILBs and crickets.
Being a leader isn’t taking someone on vacation, being a leader has to do with the locker room, and on the field. There were obviously reasons that he wasn’t voted captain by his teammates. which i don’t know what they are besides maybe his absence at the end of the NFCCG.
But i don’t think buying a few of your teammates a trip, constitutes being a leader.
This is part of being a leader, maintaining group cohesiveness, doing things for the younger guys. It’s not a BIG thing, but it is still something.
Well, if he wanted to be the leader before, in whatever way, wasn’t working for him. But i don’t know if you can buy leadership.
So he has to broadcast what he did? Pat yourself on the back. Maybe he was trying to make up for his shenanigans on the field that cost them 15 yards. He’s nowhere the leader he used to be. Now he’s Mr. Hollywood hoping to have an acting career.
He takes his teammates to Hawaii, but not his wife?? And why is he even bragging about this?? I thought he like keeping his life private / personal. Oh wait, maybe he wants to brag about what a great guy he is for treating some teammates to a trip to Hawaii they can obviously afford to pay for themselves, but he still doesn’t mention anything about his wife or kid being there. Happily married? I don’t think so.
