Not Surprisingly, Aaron Rodgers is Skipping the Pro Bowl

Aaron Rodgers

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has bowed out of the Pro Bowl.

The team has cited injury as the reason for Rodgers deciding not to play in the jokiest of all all-star games, but we have our doubts about that. This sort of thing happens every year. Some guys just don’t want to play.

Usually, those guys are on playoff teams and just sick of it all.

If Rodgers has an injury, we suspect it’s mental fatigue.

Fatigue from losing in heart-breaking fashion the playoffs again. Fatigue from butting heads with Mike McCarthy all year — interestingly, it was announced that McCarthy will coach this year’s game, earlier this week. Fatigue from a general manager that doesn’t surround him with enough talent. Fatigue from having his worst professional season and listening to everyone tell him about it.

That’s a lot of fatigue.

Interestingly, Rodgers will be replaced in the game by Oakland’s Derek Carr, who people keep comparing to him.

Statistically, Carr had a very similar season to Rodgers’. Does that make him one of the best in the league?

No, but this is the Pro Bowl we’re talking about. That isn’t even necessary anymore.

Unless they decide to drop out too, the Packers will still have guard Josh Sitton, linebacker Clay Matthews and fullback John Kuhn participating in the game.

I would prefer no Packer play in the game. if someone is injured in the worthless game and misses the entire next season, or their career is cut short does the team get salary cap relief? An extra draft pick? Who pays the injured players remaining contract?

It would seam reasonable the NFL would, however with all their attorneys my guess is the teams are totally responsible, or “we be fucked”.

He did have a fifth metatarsal fracture in 2006.

So you also saw Rodgers reach to the top of his foot in a couple of games. Detroit at home and at least one other. During the Detroit game he had chances to run and elected to throw the ball away.

The only good all star games were in the NBA pre-1990. In the 80s, the players loved playing the game and it was the basically best pick up street ball ever played.

Don’t know why I’m even mentioning it since this is an NFL space, other than to say that if you want to watch the best players in a sport letting it all hang out for pride and bragging rights, watch some of those reruns from the 80s. Amazing.

Football too dang dangerous to play one more game than you absolutely have to.

That’s why the Pro-Bowl is a farce. It’s basically an exhibition game with no hitting. I don’t blame him if he doesn’t want to go, He’s been there, done that.

Who cares about the toilet bowl.

If you want to take a nap during an NFL game, this is the one to do so. NFL needs to get rid of this game, and leave the Superbowl as the end of the season.

The Pro Bowl is a joke, but so was Rodgers this past year, he should be there. Maybe he’ll marry or dump that broad and be more focused this year.
