Well, he didn’t say it quite like that, but Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy did answer for his team’s lack of offensive direction.
You’ll recall, that was Aaron Rodgers’ criticism after the offense’s lackluster showing in Oakland.
We do too!
“From my viewpoint, I know what direction we’re going each and every week with the football team and clearly now calling the offensive game plan,” McCarthy said on Wednesday.
So that raises the question, is he sharing this information with anyone?
The Packers clearly had no offensive direction last Sunday. Or maybe more accurately, they had a direction, it was just one that no one has ever seen before. It was also a direction that didn’t make any sense.
The Packers featured John Kuhn in the backfield more than they did Eddie Lacy or James Starks, for god’s sake!
And even though everyone seems to think Jared Abbrederis should get more time, he doesn’t and the Packers keep right on trying to feature that dumpster fire, Davante Adams.
So, yeah, maybe the Packers offense did have a direction. It was just constructed by a buffoon.
What a bunch of garbage, the Packers didn’t feature John Kuhn he was a blocking back for Randal Cobb most of the time. The Packers went four wide with Randal Cobb motioning in and out of the backfield. It actually worked as the Packers had their most productive drives out of that set. Not sure if watched the game but Lacey was averaging 2 yards per carry and.
I honestly don’t know what you guys were watching in the second half, the packers offense was virtually unstoppable every drive. They scored 17 points and gained like 190 total yards, also they sustained some long ass drive.
Weird comments by MM and QB1 …
Wonder if there’s some shit going down in clubhouse between players and coaches or players and #12 …..
uh huh…We have a winner!!
My guess is MM and #12, but i’m just trying to read between the lines.
One or both have possibly lost part of the locker room to a point at least. Monty makes sense of the continuing effort to play “Oil hands Adams”, that IS NOT a sensible approach to getting the best players out on the field with every play. MM is stuck in a rut with his player choices. He has always played it this way. We are just as crazy as he is if we continue to believe that he will place the “better performer” ahead of his “player to play agenda”. If nothing else, he is a creature of habit who needs to be held accountable for these choices, as they have spelled disaster more often than they should have . . .
MM is wiser than you think. Rogers best is yet to come!
“So, yeah, maybe the Packers offense did have a direction. It was just constructed by a buffoon.”
And maybe this site has a point. But it’s just written by an idiot.
You are funny . . .
That pass that went through Janis’ hands, you can chalk that up to inexperience. He might as well be a rookie out there this year, how many bullets like that did he really get to have, in the rain with more slippery hands to boot. AR probably only throws one of those a game.
Basically great form and execution, just unlucky.
Jones got his second TD, that OPI was meh.
And how can they seriously not get Janis streaking down the sideline as fast as he can. Rodgers has laid one of those right in the hands of so many guys over the last few years. Hell instead of throwing it away, just over shoot his ass on a go route. Make the safeties think twice. Keep feeding the guy some balls, he caught 100+ his senior year, we know hes got good enough hands.
Amen!!!
I’m with you icebowl there is def something amiss between qb1 and the old ball coach. Idk wtf it is but after a first or second round playoff loss shit will hit the fan worse than last season…..just an opinion but qb1 has an I am who am complex that hasn’t been displayed in previous seasons… Maybe that’s the root?
Monty one-note strikes again. Kuhn bad! Lacy good! Coach bad!
If this tool represents the best of UW-Oshkosh, they should repay parents the cost of tuition.
All good points, but can some explain what the hell we were doing passing the ball at the end of the game with 2:45 left at the raiders 20 instead of running the ball 3 times and kicking a field goal? I mean, it didn’t matter much, but the game lasted freaking forever after the Rodgers interception. Almost ruined the 3.5 point spread for the degenerate gamblers.
I can answer that. Rodgers found out that Woodson was retiring before the game. So Rodgers wanted to give Wood a nice going away gift at some point in the game. Up 10 with 3 minutes to go, why not throw it up for my ol buddy Wood right now, this games over anyway. So he did and with some great acting on Rodgers part after the throw and in the press conference I might add.
Great point S.
I thought QB1 was actually pretty funny when he responded by saying : ” I was going for Wood, underthrew it a bit”

What Jimbo and John said.
McCarthy was misunderstood, what he meant to say was that he knows what direction he wants the offense to go each and every week, and that now he’s steering the ship again.
I mentioned 3 or 4 weeks ago this team lacks an identity, and i’ll stick by that until proven otherwise, but it’s week 16 already, so we’ll will see how this thing unfolds.
No
hey TP, lose the popups already! i can’t use my iPad anymore to type up comments/posts!
the post above was supposed to read:
[No]t to be a stickler, but your spelling in the headline of this article should be “too” vice “to” to avoid mistakes like that, i always use the contextual “2” to represent to, too, or two,
