There was a rare sight at the Green Bay Packers’ practice on Tuesday. Receiver Ty Montgomery was on the field.
Before you get too excited, the practice pretty much amounted to a jog-through. However, Montgomery doing anything beyond standing around is obviously a good sign.
Montgomery hasn’t played since week 6 because of a sprained ankle.
Will he go this week? Well, that remains to be seen, but there’s a possibility.
“I feel like I have to get open and I can make plays,” he said. “But if I don’t feel like I’m playing fast enough and do what I’m supposed to do in order to get open and be myself and make plays, it’s a waste of my time, it’s a waste of everybody else’s time. It’s a waste of a spot.
“Somebody needs to be out there that can get the job done.”
Oh, you mean like James Jones and Davante Adams?
Yeah, we’re joking.
Here’s the bottom line. It’s not like Montgomery’s return is suddenly going to rejuvenate the Packers’ passing game.
It certainly couldn’t hurt though, could it?
Thursday’s padded practice should provide us with the answer.
At least he “knows”, not to come back till he can contribute something to the team.
Yawn…..
bet he’s icing it right now…..
Holy shit I love this kid
He’s an up and coming beast!!!
