The Green Bay Packers appear like they’re going to be pretty healthy for Sunday’s game with the Detroit Lions. Four players were listed as questionable, including cornerback Sam Shields, who missed last week’s game at Carolina with a shoulder injury.
The difference between last week and this for Shields is he has participated in both the Wednesday and Thursday practice this week.
Shields said he was able to do more than he expected, on Wednesday.
Joining Shields in the questionable category were linebacker Mike Neal (hip), receiver Ty Montgomery (ankle) and running back Eddie Lacy (groin).
Lacy is new to the injury report this week after leaving the Carolina game with that groin injury. He’s also dealing with his demotion on the depth chart.
Neal is the only player on the list who hasn’t practiced this week, but has already said he’s playing on Sunday. Montgomery has missed two weeks with a sprained ankle, which he suffered before the bye.
Frankly, we expect to see all of these guys on the field on Saturday.
If anyone here is a question mark, we’d say it’s Shields.
With all of the Packers’ other cornerbacks healthy, we could see the team resting Shields. The likelihood that they need him to beat the Lions is pretty low, so there’s a chance they’ll err on the side of caution.
Sure, we don’t need Shields, because this isn’t a divisional game that we need to win if we want to stay TIED for first and because Calvin Johnson is old, washed up, and slow, oh wait….
Being healthy is not necessarily a good thing if coaches put in wrong players. Palmer and hayward being healthy is bad news. They might start again and gunther will not get tp play.
Maybe they need to fire most/all the assistants and trainers if that is the problem, esp. if MM has been getting his pals jobs on the GB staff, like was the case with Slocum the fired ST coach from last year?
