Green Bay Packers receiver Jared Abbrederis finally got some playing time last week. He went ahead and recorded his first four NFL receptions for 57 yards. And now he’s injured… again.
Coach Mike McCarthy said Abbrederis would miss several weeks with a rib injury, on Wednesday.
Injuries are nothing new for Abbrederis.
He missed all of his rookie season with a torn ACL. Then he missed most of training camp with a concussion.
That ultimately landed him a season-opening gig on the practice squad after he played in just one preseason game. Abbrederis was added to the active roster in early October and has played in five games, mostly on special teams.
Sunday was a coming out party, of sorts. Abbrederis flashed some of the play-making ability he showed at Wisconsin.
Hopefully, we’ll see you again sometime soon, Jerry.
This must be tough for this guy. Was showing up well against Detroit. Damn shame!
What the hell does he need ribs for? Should have told the team he was fine and had a private doctor check him out. Aint shit you can do about hurt ribs anyway. Just rest them.
I know, right? What a douche, caring about his health.
i heard some commentators doing a college game last sat., that statistics show that players drafted from the SEC tend to be tougher and injured less often than players from other conferences.
They also speculated that rumor has it that SEC conference teams and refs make it a point to try and practice and train to play at the NFL level, as far as the emphasis on the violent skill sets of the game: i.e., tackling, blocking, etc.
this kid has the upper body of a high school player…until he manages to put some muscle on his body will never stand up to the NFL hitting…4 reps at 225 at the combine? that should of set off some alarm bells, he’s coming from a big school program so maybe he just doesn’t have the metabolism to put on weight and muscle…too bad…try again for another bargain Ted..
