Well, maybe that’s a little strong.
However, Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy clearly isn’t your typical football player. He isn’t married to the game like a lot of guys are and he’s never made much of a secret of that.
It was speculated that Lacy slid to the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft because some personnel people didn’t think he loved the game enough. He preferred watching cartoons to watching the game he played.
Lacy was asked about San Diego Chargers rookie running back (and Badger great) Melvin Gordon this week.
Gordon has 270 yards rushing and a 3.8 average per carry five games into his NFL career. That’s not exactly tearing it up.
So what does Lacy think about Gordon’s transition to the league?
Not much.
#Packers RB Eddie Lacy when asked about RB Melvin Gordon's transition to the NFL: "I honestly have no idea because I don’t watch football."

As you can see, nothing has changed.
That is, except for the fact that some of those personnel guys are probably kicking themselves for questioning whether Lacy had the makeup to play the game at a high level.
Ed don’t give a fuck.
Now, what cartoons are we talking about here?
Yeah, and I dont watch car shows after working on them all day. See the similarity?
Nice!
Hard to watch football in only buffet style restaurants … (ZING!)
Heres the truth… He is a 5 year player in Green Bay. Plain & simple. The Packers will NOT pay this dude after 5 seasons. (Rookie contract plus 5th year option I imagine)
He went on record after his rookie year in Sports Illustrated & said his goal was just to “make it to that 2nd contract” & that he wants to “have Frank Gore’s career” (0 Superbowls for Frank Gore BTW)
I love the guy. A top 5 player of mine to watch over the last 2 seasons. But you don’t pay RB’s which means he’s about 47% through his career in Green Bay. & just another example of why you shouldn’t buy jerseys too.
Normally you don’t pay RBs, especially when Aaron Rodgers is your Quarterback, but Eddie Lacy may be one of those rare backs who can stay healthy and productive into his 30s-he is a very talented 3-down back and those players (though more than QBs) are not the most common. I think Lacy may stay on for a second contract, but I think that probability is more dependent on the variables of the profession than for players like Daniels and Raji (if he keeps performing like this).
Not a single fuck was given.
Curtis Martin didn’t much like football, he turned out to have a pretty O career.
Lacy also said that he thinks Mike Daniels is the most competitive guy in the locker room. That’s not surprising. The Packers need more guys with attitudes like 76.
