Yeah, you know we’re pretty enamored with Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Jayrone Elliott.
What’s not to like?
He gets in the game and he fucks shit up.
In a good way. Not like the way Ahmad Carroll used to do.
Elliott has seen his role expand ever so slightly this season. Instead of just playing special teams, he’s getting some snaps on defense and he’s making the most of them.
Against Seattle, Elliott had a pick and a forced fumble. Against Kansas City, he notched his first sack.
He did those things in just nine and 15 snaps, respectively.
So a guy makes impact plays in just a handful of snaps, well then, you get him more snaps.
And that appears to be what the Packers will be doing.
“He made a big step,” defensive coordinator Dom Capers said. “When you perform, you warrant more reps. Everybody gets more comfortable and confident when you’re in there and you’re able to make plays. He made two tremendous plays in the Seattle game at critical times in the game. He’s done a nice job when he’s been in there.”
Not counting Clay Matthews, the Packers’ outside linebackers are on the field in this order (by percentage of snaps played) — Julius Peppers (70), Mike Neal (67.5), Nick Perry (46.8) and Elliott (20.7).
We’re sure you know which two of those guys we could see less of on the field to make room for Jayrone.
Trusting that this will light a fire under these fucks asses . . .
THE SACKMASTER!!
Reincarnation of Tim Harris…too bad TT didn’t fix ILB. Would be nice to have CM and this dude outside every play
He can only get better….
Seems this kid was touched by Saint Reggie from D-Heaven…
