B.J. Raji Has Inflamed Groin

B.J. Raji

Remember when you were a kid watching wrestling and someone would get a shot square to the nuts and the announcer would exclaim something like, “A vicious blow to the groin!”

And you were like, yeah, he got hit in the nuts!

Well, B.J. Raji’s balls are inflamed.

Or at least something in the general area of his balls, which, trust me, is not an area you want anything to be inflamed in.

B.J. Raji said he had an MRI on his groin today. Everything came back fine, just inflammation.

So this is mostly good news.

The injury doesn’t sound terribly serious and Raji is, in fact, going to be listed as day-to-day. With the bye week coming after this weekend’s game with San Diego, we’d wager Raji will be on the field.

The bad news is that Raji either got a pretty healthy shot to the balls or he has the clap.

Something like this happened to me in High School sports. Too much of the onions banging together like cymbals.

Happened on a cut block early in the 2nd half. Borderline illegal play. The NFL needs to make cut blocks within the tackles illegal or at least only allow the blocker you are engaged with to do it.

In Raji’s case, the center initially engaged him and then released to the second level. As soon as the center disengaged, a guard came down and cut him. Technically it was a legal play because the center was disengaged from Raji for like one second before he was chopped. Still, for the defender, it makes little difference. Can’t expect a defender to protect himself from a cut block from a different blocker a second after disengaging with someone else.

His legs are too big and it’s squeezing his balls to death.
Balls between the legs never seem to make sense to me. The creator works in mysterious ways.

I knew this kid in college who tried to jump over a railing, missed the jump, and his nuts hit the railing as he fell. He told us they swelled up to the size of cantelopes.
