Randall Cobb Appears Ready for Week 1

Randall Cobb

Randall Cobb said he planned on playing week 1 and it looks like that’s going to happen.

Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Cobb was expected to practice today and that he expected him to be available when the Packers face the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

“Expectations for Randall is that he’ll practice and be ready to play. I’m hopeful everybody will practice today,” McCarthy said.

Cobb sprained his shoulder on the first series of the Packers’ third preseason game. He’s been sidelined by the injury since.

    Use a pop up blocker . . .

It’s the Bears who are banged up at receiver and we aren’t going to find that out from John Fox who has a history of not telling anyone about his players injuries.

Kevin White, who Bears fans proclaimed would be more than a replacement for Brandon Marshall, is out for a long time. Marquess Wilson and Eddie Royal both have minor injuries, and while publicly the Bears are not saying anything about Alshon Jeffrey, bloggers have indicated he may be out for many games.

Looks like the bloggers are wrong as Jeffrey returned to practice today.

But they still have good ol’ Cutty! under center. And as Sir Charles so ably pointed out: Jay will throw us the ball.

They don’t need him against the Bears, give him another week , then it’s Seattle at Lambeau, that’s what i’m waiting for. If Cobb gets re-injured against the bears, that would piss me off.

I agree. We should rest him unless we’re struggling in the passing game. Why risk it if Bears is the worst defense we play. If we can’t throw on Bears without Cobb then, we got other problems.

I disagree. We need Cobb. If Nelson were available, I would agree. Without both of them, we are very inexperienced at WR.

Like the idea of limited play time for #18.
