Well, that was brief.
The New England Patriots signed your boy, former Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Matt Flynn back on June 11. They released him today, less than two months after he joined the team.
Was Flynn that awful in New England?
No, he wasn’t anything.
Flynn never passed his physical and was on the non-football injury list with a balky hamstring. The Patriots apparently grew sick of waiting for him to get healthy.
Instead, they turned to former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Ryan Lindley.
Lindley will now serve as the Pats’ No. 3 behind Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo.
Coach Bill Belichick did leave the door open for a potential Flynn return, if he can get healthy. That, however, seems unlikely, which means Flynn may have to wait around for an injury to another QB or face the fact that his NFL career might be over.
Cheaters are done mining him for playbook information.
for that all important pre-season game?
No, Post season.
Our “system” really does seem the only one that works for him. With and w/o Joe Philbin apparently
I hope he made some good investments and saved his $$.
That game against Detroit (6 TDs and 480 yards), his role in the comeback against the Cowboys and keeping us in the playoffs that year, and his pretty decent game against NE hold him in good standing with me. Shame he only seems to do well in Green Bay.
All the best, Matt!
