Somehow, we missed this one — former Green Bay Packers receiver James Jones signed with the New York Giants.
Jones signed a one-year deal and reportedly chose the Giants over several other teams.

Of course, there’s another Green Bay-to-New York connection there. Former Packers quarterbacks and tight ends coach Ben McAdoo is the Giants offensive coordinator.
That clearly played a large role in Jones’ decision.
While Jones will have a leg up because of his familiarity with the offensive system, he’s not going to be anything more than a bit player with the Giants, barring injury. He may even have a tough time making the team.
New York already has a pretty solid receiving corps with Odell Beckham, Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle.
Jones, meanwhile, was released by the Raiders in May after one season. He averaged a paltry 9.1 yards per catch in 2014.
