There had been rumors swirling. On Monday, Green Bay Packers tight end Andrew Quarless confirmed it.
His and his girlfriend’s daughter died at birth, last week.
“This past Wednesday, July 29, I lost my daughter on delivery,” Quarless said. “Probably the saddest day of my life.”
Quarless missed the first two days of training camp. He suited up on Saturday for the first time, but didn’t practice.
Coach Mike McCarthy alluded to the fact that Quarless’ mind wasn’t on football. Now we understand why.
Obviously, we give Quarless (and pretty much everybody else) a lot of shit around here, but our condolences are with him at this time.
Hopefully, he will be able to rebound from this tragedy.
If he had killed someone in Miami with his drunken habits, would we be singing the same tune? Just saying.
It doesn’t make a difference what would have presumably happened in Miami when you’re playing hypotheticals.
It’s a somber and tragic circumstance regardless. Not for only Andrew, but for his girlfriend and family as well.
Fair enough, thanks for the mature response to my question.
He shot a gun off you pansy.
Yeah, but the manner he did it in is highly illegal
What in fuck are you talking about Money Mine?
No shit; the fact of the matter is he didn’t and he likely didn’t intend to hurt someone. Regardless, even if he had, it’s not just about Quarless, it’s about all the people affected, most specifically the person that never got a fair chance at life. Have a modicum of class, Mike.
True about the others affected, but I was talking about Quarless specifically
Everybody just talks shit about him for days because of what he did, how Datone and Guion just smoked weed and what he did is ten times worse blah, blah, blah. Then this happens and it all gets thrown under the rug? I asked a question and got my answers on how people felt on the issue.
Condolences to a Packer at a very, very sad time. To the whole family.
Damn. My in-laws went through that last year. Horrible shit. May the family find peace and solace.
Holy shit. The fact that he even suited up just days after something like that means so much to myself and the whole Packers community imo.
That is tragic. Prayers to him and family
Terrible. I would understand if he wanted to take the whole year off.
I don’t understand why players suit up and then don’t participate in practice. I’m talking in general, not about Q. In my opinion he should have taken a lil more time. That is an awful thing to have to experience. No matter what you think of someone personally or professionally. I can’t even imagine how awful it must be losing your child on what should be the happiest day of your life.
All you bleeding heart liberals shouldnt give a damn. Its not a baby anyways right? Just some more dead tissue.
Anyways I dont like Qtip, but my condolences to him and his bitch…
Some of these cavalier responses just leave me scratching my head…the man and his woman just suffered a devastating loss; our thoughts and prayers should go out to them both. This terrible tragedy happened to my son and his wife three times. It is pain that lasts a lifetime.
