This is a familiar story. The Green Bay Packers release their annual report and the Green Bay Packers report record revenue.
This year is no different.
The Packers reported a record $375 million in revenue, up 16 percent from last year.
Both local and national revenue took a jump.
National revenue, which is revenue shared between all teams, rose 21 percent to $226 million. A large portion of that number comes from the league’s television deal.
Local revenue increased 9 percent to $149 million.
Packers president Mark Murphy credited the team’s expanded Pro Shop as being responsible for more than half of that increase.
You’ve obviously been buying a lot of gear.
Overall, the Packers reported a $29 million net income for the fiscal year.
In the current fiscal year, we expect the Packers will increase local revenue even more. They have a new restaurant scheduled to open inside Lambeau Field this summer and they’re beginning to develop the land surrounding the stadium, which they’ve been buying up over the past few years.
