Now that we’ve temporarily rid ourselves of Brett Favre, let’s turn to a former Green Bay Packers quarterback we actually care about. Bart Starr has significantly improved after undergoing a round of stem cell treatments, according to his son, Bart Jr.
Starr suffered a series of strokes and a heart attack last year. He underwent his first treatment back in June.
Starr reportedly was having trouble regaining his speech.
The results of the first treatment have been positive.
“Versus two months ago, especially, there’s been pretty noticeable progress,” Bart Jr. said. “We’ve got to keep that going.”
Starr will undergo the second of two planned treatments in September. As the treatments are still considered experimental in the U.S., he’s receiving them in Mexico.
If Starr continues to improve, he plans on returning to Lambeau Field for the Packers’ Thanksgiving night game with the Chicago Bears.
Favre will have his number unveiled inside the stadium that evening.
Although not because of Favre, we do hope Bart is there.
