Just looking out for my boy, James Jones.
James Jones needs a job! Would someone please hire James Jones?
That’s pretty much what it’s come to. Jones is begging for a job.
WR James Jones who led the #Raiders in rec (73) & TDs (6) told me, "I'm not retiring. I still want to play. If you need a WR, come get me"

Jones was released by the Oakland Raiders last month, right after the team chose Alabama receiver Amari Cooper in the first round.
And while that’s business, it’s also about as big of a dick move as there is in the business of the NFL. The Raiders, specifically general manager Reggie McKenzie, released Jones after the draft. So every team that was in need of a wide receiver had just gone and drafted one.
That isn’t exactly a fertile job market to land in.
Rosters are full and thus, Jones remains a free agent.
If the Raiders gave a shit, they would have released Jones months ago, similar to how the Vikings lopped off another former Green Bay Packers receiver, when they released Greg Jennings.
That move happened in March, well before the draft. Jennings was able to find a home in Miami in April.
Jones, on the other hand, is probably going to be forced to sit around until a wideout who’s on a roster gets injured. Then he’ll get a crash course in someone’s offense, maybe make a few catches and probably get released midseason.
It’s quite possible, that through his dickishness, McKenzie has ended James Jones’ career.
After all, this is the NFL. Out of sight. Out of mind.
