Your boy, my boy, everyone’s boy, Badger great Scott Tolzien AKA Scooter is winning the Green Bay Packers No. 2 quarterback job.
Yeah, Brett Hundley. We know.
While Brett Hundley may be good one day (but probably not), that day isn’t going to come this year. This is the year of Scooter!
How do we know?
We know because he’s been in the system for two seasons. That gives him a huge advantage over Hundley simply because he knows the offense. Scoots showed us what he could do last preseason, totally outplaying Matt Flynn. The Packers somehow still handed Flynn the backup job, but wonky-ass decisions like that are par for the course in Green Bay.
Perhaps more importantly, the coaching staff has already seen an improvement in Scooter since last season.
“Great strides,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. “He made big changes to his fundamentals. You can see it in his footwork and now he can apply it all to his knowledge. I think Scott’s off to an excellent start. It’s no surprise. He’s definitely done a great job taking to the coaching, techniques and applied to his throwing motion.”
Yeah, yeah. Nobody is winning a job in June.
But come on. This one’s in the bag.
I mean, we’re talking about Spin Move Tolzien here!
Yea, they named a triple crown horse after him:
Whirlaway
Great spin move. Scooter rocks!
I agree he has the job.
Isn’t that Letroy who gets schooled?
