We feel pretty safe in saying that Badger great Jared Abbrederis is not going to have an easy time making the Green Bay Packers roster, despite being a fifth-round draft pick just last year.
Four receiver spots are locked up by Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Davante Adams and third-round pick Ty Montgomery. That leaves one or two spots for Jerry, Jeff Janis, Myles White or any of the 374 undrafted free agent receivers the Packers added this offseason.
But!
The good news is that Abbrederis is healthy.
Abbrederis tore his ACL during training camp last season. That cost him his entire rookie year and there was a least a question if he’d be ready to go when OTAs began.
The answer is yes. In fact, it appears Abbrederis isn’t limited by the injury at all.

Coach Mike McCarthy addressed the torn ACL trio after practice. Offensive linemen Don Barclay and Aaron Adams also missed last season with the same injury.
“All the guys are in the category of working out. They have done really well,” McCarthy said. “Since March, those guys haven’t missed a beat. I feel good about the progress those guys are making. There are no long-term concerns with anybody on the roster.”
In terms of the roster spot, we fully expect Jerry to earn one, providing he’s fully recovered.
We won’t know if that’s really the case until training camp, but it’s a good sign that he’s on the field already.
I was at the practice that he tore that ACL. Didn’t even know he was hurt, until he dropped out of the next practice.
This team needs a guy like that, underdog type. Plus a WI guy. He catches everything.
Montgomery doesn’t have the fourth spot yet. Lets wait a little bit on that. I would say Jake Ryan has a spot.
Hes a third round he has a spot locked up unless he goes to ir. They wont even cut a 6th rouns for Rolle, who had INTS last year and did more then Goodson
