John Kuhn is returning to the Green Bay Packers.
The free agent fullback signed a one-year deal that will pay him $870,000, on Monday.
The most important thing here is that you’ll be able to yell “Kuuuuuuuuuuuuhn!” the one time Kuhn touches the ball each game for another year. Because where would you be without that?
Kuhn’s new deal will pay him less than he made in 2014, when he signed a one-year deal for around $1 million.
That being said, he’s lucky to get a deal at all. Kuhn is 32 and plays a position that is nonexistent on most NFL rosters.
While Kuhn doesn’t really bring any value as a runner and is being used less and less as a blocker, he does still provide a couple things the Packers don’t have much of. Veteran leadership and solid special teams play.
Those are the things that ultimately got him re-signed.
Well, that and your need to yell “Kuuuuuuuuuhn!” The Packers wouldn’t deprive you of that just yet.
Oh Thank God…that was the final piece of the puzzle!
Its not just because I love to hear Lambeau (and other venues these days) scream his name….veteran leadership, ability to block out of his weight class (i.e., the unforgettable Julius Peppers block), & seemingly a true team player make Kuhn an asset to the Pack.
By the way, loving the Bio’s. Who the hell is Jim Gantner?
Yeah..Kuhn and Richardson …now this is a good day…even if we did over pay one and short change the other…still a good day. Kuhn’s importance to the team is apparent when he blocks, carries or just works his butt off… Because wherever you are in the league he has fans and as such so doesn’t the team…I know that one day all good things come to an end…. But we can love him while we have him!!!!
nurseratchett – Gantner played 2b for the Brewers in the 70’s, 80’s & early 90’s.
Who is Jim Ganter?
I am Gumby, damnit!
Totallly worth it-the hime-brewed, downto-earth, athletic version of Jamie Meline.
I am Marjoe Gorntner
