Why is Mike Daniels pissed?
The same reason you’re pissed. Because the Green Bay Packers handed the Seattle Seahawks the NFC Championship game through some of the most inept play during a five-minute stretch of football the world has probably ever seen.
Daniels was asked about the game on NFL Network this morning. While everyone else associated with the Packers is talking about how “we’ll move on” and how “we’re a different football team,” Daniels struck another chord.
“I’m still very angry about that,” he said. “I am. You said ‘we had them, but we didn’t have them.’ We had them. We got to make sure we finish it. You can’t leave. When you are fighting Mike Tyson, you got to knock him out. You can’t let him linger around.”
Daniels was later asked about his attitude toward the game and had this response.
“I’m pretty hostile about this, yes, you are correct,” he said.
We’re not particularly surprised about Daniels’ candor. He started speaking out and taking on more of a leadership role last offseason, when he was heard talking about how the Packers defense needed to get tougher.
Frankly, we like it.
God knows the Packers defense needs some leadership.
Mike Daniels and Julius Peppers. That’s pretty much it.
AmIright, Clay Matthews?
Anger and emotion can be a good thing, so long as it’s controlled. Daniels is really the one guy who brings that to this unit right now.
The Packers could probably use more guys like that.
Hey, here’s an idea – do your fucking job; then you don’t have to be pissed about anything. You. Dumb. Shit.
I happen to still be hostile along with Daniels about the last 5+ minutes. I do believe the word inept is to kind. To take a word or two from Clint Eastwood ( heart break ridge) ” Cluster fuck” seems to be the more appropriate word(s) to describe the last 5+ minutes of that game.
I would throw Sam Barrington into that list too. He seems like he’s part of the future of our D. These guys bring the much needed physicality
I’m with Daniels; but also STILL pissed at him…..his taunting penalty that pushed us back from the goal line was egregious, especially considering he wasn’t even on the field…..
Good. I hope McCarthy has the final score posted on the wall in the meeting room so that they have to deal with it every day, and get mad. It’s wonderful motivation.
Bravo.
Mike needs to walk the walk come September….
