It appears as if the Green Bay Packers have selected their backup quarterback for 2015 and that guy will be Scott Tolzien.
Tolzien signed a one-year deal worth $1.35 million to return to the Packers for a third season. Tolzien started his first year with the Packers on the practice squad before being called up in November. He was the team’s No. 3 quarterback last year, even though he clearly outplayed backup Matt Flynn every chance he got.
Flynn, who’s also a free agent, doesn’t appear to be in the Packers plans moving forward.
That will give Scooter a legitimate shot at the No. 2 job.
The Packers will likely bring a third quarterback into camp, but don’t bet on him being anything more than a developmental guy.
I was expecting to see a spinning Tolziein GIF when I opened this article. That pic should be used in every Tolzien article.
Yeah, “paint dry” is back baby!!!
This is the right move. Flynn is washed up
Coach this kid up this summer, work his ass off in preseason and roll the dice. Flynn has had his moments, but he’s just too goddamn inconsistent.
Although I normally hate anything Bucky Badger, this guy is the real deal.
Now draft Aarons successor…..
