Hey, look at that. The Green Bay Packers are doing their best Minnesota Vikings impression this offseason.
Cornerback Jarrett Bush was arrested over the weekend for public intoxication. And that is the Packers’ second arrest this offseason, following defensive tackle Letroy Guion’s arrest for felony drug possession.
Like Guion, Bush is about to be a free agent. Unlike Guion, we’re not sure if the Packers want Bush back.
Bush was arrested early Sunday morning by the Vacaville, California police and charged with disorderly conduct while under the influence.
Now, we’re not going to throw stones. Who among us hasn’t been drunk and disorderly in public? Actually, I’ve only been drunk and awesome in public, but that’s because I am an exception.
Anyway, football.
Bush certainly didn’t do himself any favors by getting arrested, but we doubt this will be a defining factor in whether the Packers re-sign him. We know this. Bush works harder than anyone and is one of the few veterans who contributes anything of note on special teams.
He’ll also be 31 in May, so the Packers could deem Bush a player in decline and not make an offer.
That being said, we’ve learned never to count Jerry Bush out. He’s pretty much never had any business making the Packers roster at any point during his career. Yet, there he is, year after year, making the roster.
He’s like the Keith Richards of the NFL. He’ll never fucking die.
“Drunk and awesome in public” what a hack.
He was released with no charges.
He’ll always be remembered for picking off Big Ben Rapist-berger in super bowl XLV..
Jarrett Bush. Makin plays.
Look at it this way – at least he wasn’t carrying and hauling a pound of weed with him.
1. Vacaville cops are a bunch of racist dicks (I have experience)
2. See #1
I am sure Jarrett was just out having a good time and the cops/other white trash had a problem with a good looking black man with money smiling. Jarrett has had nothing but excellent character since he’s been with the Packers so fuck this.
