Brett Favre has been pushing for fans to be able to attend his induction into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.
Now they will be able to… kind of.
The Packers will allow fans to buy tickets to sit inside the Lambeau Field bowl for the ceremony. The ceremony itself will not take place inside the bowl, as Favre had requested (demanded?).
The induction banquet itself will remain in the Lambeau Field Atrium, where only Packers Hall of Fame sponsors will be allowed. So essentially, fans will be able to pay to watch the induction on a really large TV. But a really large TV inside Lambeau Field!
In other words, a real shitty solution for everyone involved, except the Hall of Fame, which needed to keep the event inside the Atrium to preserve their sponsorship dollars.
Fan tickets for the event are $4 and they’re being sold through Ticketmaster, so that price will probably be double when it’s all said and done. However, the part of the sale price that doesn’t belong to Ticketmaster will go to Favre’s charity, Favre 4 Hope.
If you want to save the loot and still want to watch the event, it will be broadcast on the Packers TV Network and NFL Network, reportedly on the day after the event itself.
Although we think this solution totally blows for fans, it’s great for Favre. Not only does he get some charity dollars, but the fans are stuck in a different part of the venue, so if someone were to yell something nasty at him everyone can just pretend it didn’t happen.
The induction is July 18.
Clear your schedules!
I’ll wait for training camp to start, thank you.
if you don’t like Favre why would you go to this event, just to show what a fuckin’ dipshit you are to yell dumb stuff…it isn’t a very good solution though…maybe i’ll get a backstage shake & greet pass…hahaha…
Was waiting for you to spin Favre’s charity into something egocentric. Congrats!, you didn’t disappoint.
I’m a fan of the guy, but I think it would be funny as fuck if about 11 people showed up at Lambeau to watch the TV show.
Packers shit the bed on this one.
Shitting the bed would have been relenting to Favre’s demand, for whatever reason, Favre isn’t happy unless he’s in control of the drama he creates, The Packers did the right thing.
I hope all 2,000 fans attending have fun watching the big screen.
I opined my shit for humor sake. How much is it going to add to you and Wolfie’s angst when 20,000 people show up?
I don’t really care who shows up, you, your old lady, or your cat. I don’t even care that they have the ceremony, as iv’e stated before, that he should be inducted. I just wouldn’t be involved because to me, all he had was a cannon arm, that was his one positive. Heaving up passes in coverage, hoping your receiver comes down with it, doesn’t take any skill other than a strong arm, and a “i dont give a shit thought process”.
So before you speak, know what your talking about.
Actually, Favre had pretty good accuracy, and was one of the greatest audiblers of his time; he put a lot of time into film study after his first few years. We get it, you don’t like the guy, but don’t try to undermine his accomplishments when ouu don’t even know what you’re talking about.
I’m not undermining his accomplishments. I believe i said he “should” be inducted. He had a gun and he was fairly accurate overall, but he wasn’t Aaron Rodgers accurate.
I don’t know how much time Favre spent in the film room, as i don’t have that 1st hand knowledge. But most guys who put a lot of time in the film room, usually do so to study defenses, defensive backs, tendencies, formations, ect, so they don’t throw many interceptions. Maybe Favre would take naps, idk.
BTW..If 20,000 people showed up, i’d still laugh, as that’s only a quarter of the stadium.

Despite what you think about Favre, the Packers fucked this one up. Seriously, you fans who dump tons of money into buying fake “stock” so you can put a piece of paper on your wall and pretend like your an owner with a say in absolutely nothing, don’t get a chance to attend a HOF ceremony. But you can pay $4 to sit in the bowl and watch it on a big tv screen because we’re too worried about sponsors. As if fans didn’t “sponsor” that whole atrium renovation. A team that is owned by the community gives said community the cold shoulder after shitting on our hearts last January. Why is it that these corporate sponsors are such pussies about having the ceremony outside? Lets blame it on not knowing what the weather is gonna be like, because when has weather ever stopped Brett Favre from showing up? Never motherfucker!
Nobody who bought stock, pretends like they have a say in the operation of the Green Bay Packers. They bought the stock to support the team. Please don’t insult the fans who bought stock to support the Packers. It’s an ugly look.
I didn’t insult the fans. I said it was BS that the Packers don’t even give these people an opportunity to attend the HOF ceremony, being that the fans dumped boatloads of money into that stock sale.
Since when have the Packers had a HOF induction outside of the atrium? This is nothing new, nobody (Favre) complained about it before now.
He’s going to give some kind of speech to the fans, so yeah, there’s that.
i think I have to mow the lawn that day, probably pressure wash the patio too. Even these mundane tasks take precedence over heaping plaudits on that prick.
If you think grown men can’t be childish, take a good look at this thread which is replete with left over spleen for one of the greatest quarterbacks in GB and NFL history.
Favre and Holmgren and white with Ron wolf brought the packers back to greatness who knows what our pack might have ended up if this nucleus wouldn’t have been brought together.it’s time to retire #4 well deserved.. Ill in zona
