Much like Dez Bryant himself, Green Bay Packers cornerback Sam Shields doesn’t know the rules.
Shields was covering Bryant a few weeks back when the Cowboys’ receiver made a fourth-down catch, didn’t carry it through all the way to the ground, had the “catch” overturned and cried. Shields, who somehow made it to the Pro Bowl, says he agrees with Bryant that it was indeed a catch.
“It was a catch. But the new rule and at the last minute what happened, that’s what the refs came up with. I never said he didn’t catch it. He made a hell of a catch.”
Yeah, whatever. We’ve been over this in detail and we’re not going to go over it again because frankly, we don’t give a shit.
We will say this, though. Shields sounds pretty ignorant.
The rule isn’t that new. The refs didn’t come up with anything, they just followed the established rule about maintaining possession throughout the catch.
People can dislike it if they want, but it wasn’t incorrectly called.
really sammy? you gotta take the michael jordan approach to this when asked about it: “what did the refs call?”
Hang on to the fuckin ball. Problem solved.
WTF…do these guys believe they didn’t deserve to be in the Championship and that’s why they played like shit?
Dez who ?
