The first time the Green Bay Packers met the Seattle Seahawks this season, Jordy Nelson accounted for the bulk of an otherwise non-existant offensive attack.
He finished with nine catches for 83 yards back in week 1, but was targeted 14 times. Aaron Rodgers threw the ball a total of 33 times.
Also noteworthy, is that Nelson never faced Seattle corner Richard Sherman in that game. The Seahawks didn’t have any interest in moving Sherman around and matching him up with the Packers’ top receivers and the Packers had no interest in putting their best receivers on Sherman’s side of the field.
And of course, since we’ve all been conditioned to be concerned about Richard Sherman — or at least the myth of Richard Sherman, Jordy was asked how concerned he is with Richard Sherman.
He is not concerned.
“I’m not worried about that,” Nelson said. “The way the game plays it will play out. If we get matched up it will be a challenge and great opportunity. I’m not going to go out of my way to line up against him.”
In other words, stupid fucking question.
