Off week. Good of time as any to talk about former Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley’s delusions of grandeur.
You know the story. Finley injured his neck last season, the Packers wouldn’t re-sign him and he remains a free agent. It’s pretty clear to us that if Finley was going to sign with anyone, it would have happened by now.
Of course, he allegedly got an offer from the Pittsburgh Steelers and turned it down because the deal didn’t pay him enough money. As if he’s in a position of negotiating power…
Anyway, Finley made an appearance on one of the local TV stations this week — whatever one let’s Ahman Green talk about sports. And after some verbal fumbling around, the host of this particular show asked Finley if he thinks he’s going to play in the NFL again.
Of course he does!
Hey, I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but former Packers safety Nick Collins and his neck injury also thought they were going to play in the NFL again. It took him a few years to finally give up on that dream.
Finley will at least get to collect a handsome insurance policy if he so desires. That should ease the blow a bit.
I swear that I read a month ago that he was going to retire and file for the insurance. Maybe a couple of lawyers have reviewed the policy and advised him that that Pittsburg doctor who gave him the green light just screwed him out of 10 million.
Gotta admit, kind of miss his help this point in the season. Our TE’s are completely lackluster, and Rodgers could certainly use his help after what happened in NO.
That being said, absolutely NO ONE should give this little punk a penny more than he deserves! I’d say he’s worth a 3 million one-year prove it deal TOPS.
I highly, HIGHLY doubt that his neck injury is the only factor playing into his continued unemployment. I would bet he’s just thinking he’s mister “I’m worth a Megatron sized deal”, like the complete total douchebag and failure that he is, therefore he has refused to sign with anyone. IDIOT!
Whoa! I got whiplash from reading that!
Didn’t Peyton Manning have a neck injury? I guess if your a franchise quarterback things are different.
Yeah, and I’m writing the code for the next Windows.
