The Green Bay Packers released the good old official injury report today and defensive end Datone Jones is listed as questionable.
That’s 50/50, folks.
Jones hasn’t practiced all week after suffering an ankle injury against Minnesota last Thursday. However, it sounds like there’s a decent chance that he’ll play on Sunday against Miami. If the Packers had practiced today, Buffoon said Jones would have been out there, at least on a limited basis.
“I would hope if we were practicing today, he would’ve been out there in some form or fashion,” Mike McCarthy said. “He’s very optimistic. He’s doing everything he can. We’ll see tomorrow.”
If Jones doesn’t go, it looks like Josh Boyd will get the start. He’s been battling a knee injury, but is officially listed as probable.
The only guy the Packers will for sure be without on Sunday is receiver Jarrett Boykin, who will miss his third game in a row because of a groin injury.
I’m sorry Jones is injured, buy he hasn’t done much to impress me yet. Same with Nick Perry. That’s two #1s back to back if I’m not mistaken. Am I missing something with these two? Are they better than I think? Just wondering….
Are you one of those people who just looks at the sacks numbers? Or do you actually read tape analysis?
Datone has graded as our second best pass rusher, better than even Clay Matthews. He hasn’t always gotten the sack, but for the last three games he’s gotten about 8-10 pressures that have either ended in a sack or forced the ball out.
He’s starting to look REALLY good, by year’s end he could be a force.
Are you joking around ? Datone Jones has been getting consistent pressure.
Well then, maybe he’s better than I thought. But no, I don’t just look at sack numbers. If he plays Sunday I’ll watch him more carefully. I don’t even know what “tape analysis” is. Can you fill me in?
